Potential new hire here. In fear of being laid off after 8 yrs with current co. Coming over willing to accept lower salary for bets on future potential here. how are benefits, ie.stock option? Has anyone negotiated higher amount? Vacations? Sick days? Potential of being sold in next year?
 






18 personal days off, includes sick days, plus standard holidays. But they limit when you can use it. Stock options are ok except the stock prices are tanking. And you don't get them til 1 year anniversary. Culture is good, but I see them adopting things from big pharma even though they pride themselves on being a start up. The launch is not going as well as expected. My region gets 1/10 of the scripts my RD said would be on target in the launch meeting. Bottom line is that we don't know what's going to happen. It doesn't look good. And no one in corporate is saying anything. We have to go here for info. They did layoff some low performers. I was nervous because Vascepa is not covered where I work. Layoffs are layoffs no matter what the reason, and I bet another round will come where they combine territories (for example, 4 reps in Chicago go down to 2). If the ANCHOR indication comes that should help, but remember, they thought we would destroy Lovaza with just MARINE and LDL info and we are not destroying anything. My advice: stay put.
 






Run and don't look back. They are quickly running out of money. All budgets cut, more layoffs coming. fDA wants to see interim analysis on Reduce-It but it won't look good. Reality is expectation was each rep to account for 1 million in sales. Not anywhere close and now cutting sales force, limited part d plan coverage and cost of goods too high.

Beware of trolls. They are here to bash the company on every message board in the world in an effort to slow the vascepa launch. Give the company a call. Ask them to speak with a real rep.

Seems a better time to come in now since low...right? Cause at 1yr point value of shares hopefully higher. Has anyone negotiated for extra vacation or stocks, or salary? #2 is accurate post. However I would not join any company just for the Stock Options, look for security and salary. You will get your salary here but you will not have security.

Seemed to me there was very little wiggle room when it come to things you want to negotiate. It never hurts to ask, but I wouldn't expect anything to change.
 












Just got their letter of offer....0 wiggle room. If anything I feel they went backwards. I guess they'll get what they pay for while I look for another gig.

Amazing. Do you really think that many people got an offer letter today, but you are going to go ahead and put out there that you aren't planning on working and looking for another job. Why didn't you just send an email to hiring manager instead of posting it on here. Moron!! Don't get me wrong, I don't love it here, but I would never make a statement that would so easily identify who I am. If you aren't any smarter than this, you deserve the shitty pay that we are getting.
 












No way we will be bought out until at least some time early next year....not with the indication on the way at years end. Big pharma is waiting on this just like everyone else. Nobody would be that stupid to buy us right now with our mediocre numbers at best. It will definitely happen, just not this year.....I've actually been told that we are about to expand....probably just to inflate the dollar amount that we'll be sold at....;)
 












Well, it seems that its game over for Amarin, but at $1.65/share, a buyout seems likely - more like a hostile takeover. Fire sale!!!!!!! With the proper company buying this product and giving it proper recourses and direction, Vascepa is definitely worth something to a big pharma company…..a least now. Who know's, let's see.
