FRX buys Clinical Data

Our jobs are saved...now, let's get back into the Psych offices and do what we do best! I knew the company would pull it off!! Way to go Mr. Solomon!!

Jobs are save? Dude, we got the news from inside this morning that cuts are happening and will happen quickly, finally cutting out the pods and dead wood. Kudos to you Forest for finally answering the bell and eliminating the pointless sales reps killing this industry and the laughing stock of the industry will finally get its due. You got some bad info!!!! How funny, is this what your 23 yr old DM is telling you? Guess what, they are OUT AS WELL......joyous day indeed!

Correct, jobs are NOT saved and FRX will use the CD buyout as a firm excuse to hire from the outside, get rid of the junk reps who have been stringing it along here for years or even months, and rid the company of the poison Dm's once and for all. This is not good news for most, new hires and new sales force will be a tactic to make the current reps sweat bullets and re interview for their jobs. This is a guarantee. Start looking.

You got that right. The trash will finally be taken out at this place. The expanding and hiring of new salesforce is always the time the companies "right size" their current reps. This will all be from the outside and current reps will be downsized, no doubt about it! Get a plan B now.

This seems like good news to me could someone please enlighten me why after buying this company there would be layoffs. It doesn't make a lot of sense.

You clearly have never worked in pharma before. What these posters are stating is spot on. Every company that I have worked for and known others in this sitch where a buyout for a large scale product like an SSRI is involved it is always associated with a lay off and the removal of dead wood.

A fresh start and "right sizing" will occur here we have all known it was coming and this is the excuse FRX needed to start dropping the ax. They will hire from the outside, gloat about trying to hire the "best of the best" or as we call it, "the rest" and districts will be chopped and the dirty weeds will be worked out and the rest will have to re interview internally for a job, it will be survival of the fittest, make sure your call reports, sigs, gas receipts, exp reports and sample calls are all top notch, they will be hawking this shit to move reps in or out as we approach expansion for new product. Watch it will happen, it is already happening......do not trust your DM, these putz's are also now on the chopping block, they will do anything to show their meaningless merit. Be careful.

I feel like they may have just bought us a few months and thats it. My concern is how much money they spent for a product that is already in a saturated market. When we launched Lexapro Zoloft wasn't even generic then. Now we have all the generics including Lexapro very soon. When the product doesn't sell as well as they would like is when the shit will hit the fan. And for investors who predict this product to be a billion dollar product remember what that they said the same thing about Savella and we all know how shitty of a product Savella is.

Clinical Data's sales force was going to be hired to sell to only against Lexapro. Forest just brought there only competition in a slowing market.

Read the above posts, this is all you need to know. You will not hear a peep from your DM about any of this. Forest specialty is to creep up on its reps and drop the hammer when the CD scheme is hatched. I hope that they take out the DM's who have been nothing but line toters and bone smugglers for the last few years. HR claims they have a special collection of reps and DM's that will be the first to go when the company takes on its new direction and product mix. Keep your toes crossed.

Sorry dude, but pods are the new wave, why? one manager for 5-10 reps instead of 4 different managers for the same amount of reps. Reps beware, but if I were a DM, I'd really be sweating!!

I think everybody should just relax and let Forest go to work. Any addition to the pipeline or immediate bottom line is a good thing, period! I have never understood why people come here to complain rather than go out and do what the company pays us to do.... drive market share. FYI... I have already heard a voicemail from my ABD and have a conference call already about this with my DM-so much for the silent treatment of this eh? I'm sure it will be the usual conversation of stay focused on what we have right now and dont get caught up in all of the excitement.

I agree with the above poster. I talked to my DM this morning. There's not secrects being kept. The company that was acquired had no sales force, therefore there has to be an expansion. What good would it do for Forest to make its current reps re-interview for their jobs? People would jump ship immediately if they had to do that, it would be self-defeating. This SSRI has very few side effects including sexual side effects. If you know anything about the complaints providers get with depression meds you'd know that sexual dysfunction is a major complaint. People will pay extra not to have to deal with it. What's the point of feeling better if you can't enjoy that part of life? Also, the new COPD drug is going to be huge. COPD is a disease state seen mostly among the elderly. What insurance plans cover the elderly population? That's right! Medicare and Medicare Part D plans. Come one people. The only reason you should worry about your job is if you're not doing it (duh) and instead sitting on your ass posting on CafePharma at 10:00 a.m. when you should have been out the door hours before. If the company wants to find the "deadwood" in the Forest sales force they should try to find the mid-day posters on CafePharma. I came on here tonight wondering what the scuttlebutt was...guess I found out. Just more idiots who don't know what they're talking about. Sheesh, get to work you lazy mid-day posting SOBs!!! Let the rest of us do our jobs in peace without your meaningless chatter.

You mentioned CD did not have a sales force for Viibryd which is correct. They hired Quintiles to scale up a sales force and DMs are in place but reps were not to receive offer letters until 3/14. Not sure what will happen now...

I love the posters who complain about post times. For one most of our jobs now revolve around sitting in waiting rooms for long periods. Just about everyone has a phone with internet now. Secondly post times are in Eastern time. So someone from Cali could post at 7 am and it would show as 10. Please quit being corporate kool aid drinkers. When the layoffs come please get back on and admit how wrong you were.

You don't have to be a corporate cool aid drinker to actually enjoy the fact that we all have jobs. I'm sure all of those who have been laid off in pharma would like to be in our shoes right now. If lay offs come, they come. We cant control it, so why look at the negative side of things. I would rather go out and work hard. Things would look very different if Forest had no products coming out. At least they are doing something to avoid being like every other company and dropping their sales forces. If they were going to lay off, why invest a billion to get a product that we can add to the bottom line now? Besides, from what I hear the expansion is only about 1 division PER region. Not really that big after all.

FUCK OFF, it is people like you that make this company so pathetic and intolerable. Forest will make its reps re interview that is not a secret and certainly something that your incapable DM is not going to tell you until the week before the lay offs and lobbying starts to see who stays and and who goes....wake up. I will post anytime of the day, morning or afternoon, it does not matter. My pod mates carry the samples, trust me my docs are not complaining to see one less rep per day, they love that I leave them alone and check in every 2-3 week, they HATE my pod mate kool aid freaks who are viruses in their offices. You sound so delusional it is hilarious and sad mixed together, you will be the first to have to interview to keep your shitty catering job. CD has reps already hired they will be interviewing against you for the new drug. Take it or leave it, Forest does not give a rats ass.

Quintiles will not be moving forward in hiring sales reps for Viibryd.
