FORTUNE'S BEST PLACES TO WORK

So Fortune magazine just published their 100 best places to work survey...any surprise that Merck is no where to be seen on that list? Ex-Merck here, and remember the day when Merck was all over lists like this.

Comments?

The last list Merck managed to stay on was something about working mothers. The sad part was all the reasons why we made that list: subsidized daycare and other generous policies were available only to women working at the HQ. I guess it confirmed the fact that field sales reps did not count as true Merck employees then already?

Good point!

and if you don't work for Merck anymore then why the hell do you care?
your like a stray cat that won't go away. Move on...

I don't really care, it's just sad because when I joined Merck years ago, they actually DID care about their employees, especially those in the field. Everyone wanted to be Merck bacause of the way the company looked after us. What a pathetic shell of a company it's become. Go look up the reasons SAS is the #1 Company on the list. Aside from the many perks, the CEO states that 90% of his most valuable assets drive out the gate on their way home every day and he wants to make sure they come back the next day. Their employees are engaged, motivated, creative, compensated and well cared for... when's the last time YOU felt that way?
