Agree w comment above--the training is a week too long. Easily could be done in two weeks. The food is pedestrian at both facilities. Some of the trainers are awesome people and are empathetic to what it is like to be gone for three weeks. Hotel is Hyatt and the only other restaurant is the golf club house that is on the adjacent property.
Forest training I thought was pretty good. (I've been to to other company's training classes). But they don't need the three weeks. You will be tested on your products an exam covering the topics learned in class. Not sure why we needed to bring all the home study materials with us to the training. Also they believe in role play. Watch the trainers carefully as they give an example of what they want. Just do it like the trainers and you will be fine. They have this creepy set up of small offices where you will go with a couple other students to be graded on the RP. There are cameras mounted in each of these rooms but they only film the last RP on each product. If you don't meet expectations don't worry they will remediate you and then you will pass. However, if you do not pass an exam with 85% or better you will have only one more try while in Commack. It is given then next morning before class. After failing a test they will have a one on one session to review the test ans answer questions so you will be prepared to take it the next day. No one in the class I was in (285 people) were terminated for failing the exams or RP.
Forest seems to be a solid company but right now they have way too many people in the field. I'm part of the contract force and overlap two districts in my territory. It's been a struggle to get into all of my assigned offices because there are so many reps out calling on them. I think the Forest reps have been told to get sample calls on 80% of there calls so the closets are overflowing with Forest stuff. I can't get back in a lot of offices because they don't need any samples. Most places I try to stuff one sleeve of Viiibryd into the bin to get a signature.
I hope Forest gets the approval for their two new drugs in the fall so that we will be secure in our jobs and it will move the regular field force into launch with the new products.
And almost left this out. Forest only allows two lunches per month per provider across all the sales groups. This is a nightmare. Trying to get all eight reps I overlap with to share their lunch calendars with me and send me updates when they add more so I can effectively schedule.
That's enough for today.
