We don't sell focalin anymore you fool

We sell Focalin XR :) I do not know where your territory is but I kickin' Concerta all the way to Pres Club

I'm an adult with ADD, I found this site by googling stuff about Concerta, FocalinXR, Straterra, and others.
I was on Concerta for about a year, and it worked OK, but at times I felt jittery, and at times I felt it wasnt working at all. My doctor switched me to Focalin XR about 6 months ago and I like it a lot. I take 20mg first thing in the morning, and I never really feel it "kick in", Ii just can tell that I concentrate better, and I dont get as jittery.
At my last med-check, I asked my doctor why there would be such a difference between the 2, and he told me that Concerta and Focalin XR are the exact same drug, but that the capsules they are in are different and that Focalin XR is basically released all day long. Is all that true?
I'm 32 yr oldd female, and live in the Chicage area (Naperville)

Focalin XR is the single isomer of Ritalin (Concerta) just the dextro. Focalin XR has Poss. less side eff. smooth 50/50 delivery vs. Concerta

To the Concerta Donkey dong licker! When is your patent expiring? Update that resume and dust of the polyester! Novartis will most likely be expanding in the future do to our strong neuro pipeline, how about you?

I am a mother of a child that currently takes Focalin XR and I can attest that the side effects are much less than the previous Adderall he was on. It has been wonderful for him especially at school, where his behavior is mostly monitored, and his self esteem has improved on top of it all!

Why would an ethical pharma company root for a competitor to loose their patent? This should be one area we should lock arms together on. Today's patent winner is tomorrow's looser. You guys are on the clock!

Who is challenging Concerta's patent?

Dexmethylphenidate hydrochloride [Focalin XR (R)]: litigation

Focalin XR contains d-isomer of d,l methylphenidate HCl. Celgene Corporation had granted Novartis an exclusive worldwide (excluding Canada) license covering its intellectual property rights associated with Focalin, Focalin XR and Ritalin LA. Focalin XR was developed using Elan’s proprietary Spheroidal Oral Drug Absorption System technology.

Generic players have filed p.IV certified ANDAs for Focalin XR and hence Novartis, Celgene and Elan have sued the generic players.

The litigation scenario is spread between 2 Courts and multiple plaintiffs [for their respective patents].

Here's to all you that think you know about this shit or have taken it occasionally from some friend so that you could focus on homework or a test, mother of the child who is on Focalin XR you should listen up here too. I wish I had never been prescribed ADD medicine, I've taken them all (Concerta, Vyvanse, Adderall, Focalin) and I'm certain I'm a different person than I would've been without the meds. Sure I was able to live up to my academic potential (3.9 GPA in Highschool and doing well in College) but the emotional roller coaster of these medicines has left me so depressed at times I've wanted to lay down and just die. My tolerance level to my concerta hit a threshold that left me with fatigue and feelings of being very lethargic, this threshold was crossed during my senior year wrestling season in which I was ranked 5th in the state of Iowa at my weight class but felt so shitty all the time that I didn't even make it onto the medal stand at State, something I had been working for all through out high school; now I hate wrestling because of the way my meds have altered my personality, I no longer like something I was once passionate about and loved doing. I now find that I hate doing most of the activities I used to love like playing pick up sports games with friends; I hate doing anything but sit in a room isolated and alone while chewing and doing homework. When I don't take the meds I can't even function now; I have become emotionally numb and the only way I can have fun anymore (psychologically speaking) is by altering my emotional state with some kind of substance(i.e. alcohol or weed). Don't do this to your kid, I don't give a shit how bad his ADHD is, it's your job as a parent to put up with this, not to decide you want to selfishly make it easier on yourself by forcing this goddamn pill down his throat. I'd like to stop taking my meds, and plan to do so at the end of the school year but to do so I'm probably going to have to take several months out of my life to go through the withdrawal and learn how function and motivate myself without my pills. I only hope I can find the person I used to be, instead of this emotionless shell I've become.
