Florida/SE Region and No Compete Clause

Quest's "No Compete" clause is not an issue in Florida I hear? I was recently told about a former Solstas Sales Director hired in Florida as a Director of Strategic Alliance who left Quest after about 6 months to work as a regional sales director at PCLS. Since she has been there she has solicited employees and hired at least one. I heard she was even given a teary good bye by the VP down there in Tampa? What? Florida is sure filled with crazies but the no state income tax, no non-compete enforcement and sunny weather have motivated me to look for work down there. The VP of Commercial seems to be a cream puff so this decision is looking even better.

What is the point of your post? Many states have no state income tax and the non compete is a joke.

Management is clueless in Tampa or just dosent care. Great place to draw a salary without doing anything. Double dip or spend your days on the golf coarse.

I know who this is. Tucking this info away in case I am challenged on my no compete.

Once a snake always a snake! But; I have to give her credit, she always lands on her feet, stands tall and proud. I'm not a fan, but good for you A

So true. She has that classic sociopathic personality that sucks weak minded people right in. Foolish Florida leadership fell for it lock, stock and barrel. The good news is they have set a precedence by sending her off with hugs and kisses to work for a competitor.

Who'd she hire? Who at Quest received a call from her?

Why would Quest care? They are the dominant managed care player in Florida, and no small lab can compete with that. They have lightened their payroll expense, and will lose little business. It is a win in their eyes.

The non compete is literally not worth the paper it's printed on. They will not enforce it especially for recruiting current quest employees. I can't believe anyone at quest leadership to the pissants think it means anything.
