Finally, the Apfel Pharmacoeconomic Data on IV Acetaminophen in all of our pharmacists hands

It has been years in the making! I just received a copy of Apfel's pharmcoeconomic article in AJHP from one of my phamacist "friends". It had all the data, formulas, and doubt my MSL told me it would have. But, honestly, my pharmacist loved the ending. To quote the authors:

"Furthermore, the purchase price of i.v. acetaminophen itself affects the pharmacoeconomic analysis. This study was conceived and this analysis conducted well before the price increase associated with the acqisition of Cadence Pharmaceuticals by Mallinckrodt, none of which was known at the time of manuscript submission. Thus, given the price increase, the pharmacoeconomic part of this analysis is no longer current and should not be used to justify the price increases that make i.v. acetaminophen less accessible to patients in the United States while increasing our total healthcare costs."

Glad we waited so long for this PE data that we will use to justify the price increase. My institution is going back to P&T with this publication in hand. What next? They find out it is only dissolved tabs in water? I hope not. I have to give my MSL credit. He said this paper would be useless to the field. I never thought it would be used against us.

Sorry for the long post. It just pissed me off after I actually read it.

I asked the same question and they told me hosting a lot of speaker programs and leveraging surgical relationships is their main direction. Totally serious. The manager I interviewed with is a complete joke. Bloody shame.

You guys have a tough job. Good data if you can just get past the pharmacy hounds wanting you killed on sight, much less allowed in the hospital. Our local territory has been through 3 reps in the last year, I interviewed with them a long time ago (before purchase and price increase) and it wasn't a good time for me to move. The local manager sent me a text asking if I was interested and I said no, pharmacy doesn't like me now, I don't want a bounty on my head.

So you're getting offered jobs that you are turning down. So that says 1 or 2 things: #1: that is the type of job that recruiters think you are qualified to do, or #2: only shitty jobs are out there. Nope. Pay and overall packages are good but I have no immediate major problems working here and love the product. You literally seem clueless as to some of the opportunities hiring right now. You seem clueless about a lot of things. I'm not changing until I find something that personally interests me and I believe in the product and there is nothing wrong with that. Believe what you want, but the opportunities are very good ones. There are just some areas of medicine I am tired of calling on and will wait. You wasted enough people's time on here. You are just a bag of hot air and a whiner. One can easily tell you have no skill set and you were a basic office rep that the company was very happy to cut loose. The saddest and most pathetic posts come from you. You have no life and no longer work here and are so bitter its eating you up inside. Go seek help as I feel you need to be heavily medicated in order to continue with your pathetic life. You have issues.
