finally good bye Labcorp

Been trying to get out of Labcorp for 6 months, finally found a good company, one that seems to treat it's employees with respect (checked with their employees).

Thanks God I'm out.

I've had 4-5 empoyers since leaving college and LCA is by far the worst, been here about 4 years and what a mistake to come here. worst benefits (and getting worse every year), Med ins is high premiums and high deductables, ending of what the called a pension, cutting back on 401K contributions

Have friends in the lab area, they say quality is in the pits, and management constantsly says to run less quality control, lousy results going out just to make some numbers. No lab tech wants to put their name on any results. A few have even quit rather that report out junk.

This is the first lab I've worked out where management watchs to make sure the lab cuts corners and hides mistakes. All the other labs, management watchs to stop short cuts and only reports out good results.

Constant complaints from clients about lost specimens and wrong results. Doctors tell me, they do not believe LCA results,

Since I put in my notice, I been asking around if anyone wants to stay at lCA, almost to a person, "hell no!!" Have to watch their back and always expect to be laid off.

Doesn't matter how good you are (or bad), if they want to cut people, you will go.
Very likely while you are off on vacation. HR is so spineless,

Well this week could be the happiest I've had in 4 years, I have a quality job at a quality company. Merry Christmas to me and a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Good luck all, advise you get out if you can. I did...

agreed!!! I too worked there and it was awful !!! I was so happy to get out . They have a turnover issue as people are trying to get out asap . Run out of N .C cheap labor an hire mostly anyone . I was very lucky as well and feel sorry for the remaining ones trying to get out . Quest although a Lab as well is held to a higher standard and is n ot run out of N.C ! Different world there . .

Congratulations. If I could revisit the past, I would have stayed clear of LCA. After two years, I am still trying to clear the stain on my resume. OP gave an accurate description of operations and how it affects sales/reputation.

Depending on geographic location, you could have a myriad of different management characters: functioning and non-functioning drunks, ex-convicts, criminals on probation, crackheads, racists, management with fraudulent credentials (or none at all), the washouts from other quality healthcare organizations, those who have been around since the dawn of time (malcontents), etc. While LCA may purport to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, I think they missed the boat and took in the undesirables. Even so, they keep the EEOC very busy.

Outside of entry-level and mid-level management (can't speak to DK and Top Management), there are some great employees; bound to LCA due to a lack of better options.

Don't look back. You're miles ahead of them.

See ya. Don't let the door hit you in the As%. You wont be missed. Chances are you didn't do anything in the 4 years you werehere anyway. You're just another leach that LCA poured the salt on and you withered and died.

I am very curious as to what type of job you held at LCA. Now that you have left there is no reason to hind what type of position you held. Were you in sales like a SME or KAE? Maybe you worked in the lab. It would help to understand you position if you told us.
Thanks!

Good one. Do you believe this guy's claim: "All the other labs, management watchs to stop short cuts and only reports out good results." How the hell does he know about this? Is he an auditor?

Oh for God sake peeps who the F...! cares where or what this person is doing now with another company.
Does it matter, no!
Only to that person who left LH you know......
Have a real nice life.

I find it interesting that so many "poster" choose to berate the individual who has managed to escape the hellhole that is LabCorp. I say "bravo!" Like nearly everyone that I work with, excluding those who are too close to retirement to say "sayonara" and the pricks in management that have the cushy, well-paying jobs, we are trying to find the exit door, as well. Our particular area of the country has yet to experience the resurgence of the economy that we keep hearing about. There are no jobs here, excepting Mickey D's, Taco Bell, etc... LabCorp just plain sucks these days. Burlington is trying to micro-micro-micromanage everything. Most of the upper-level execs and management are all vying for a spot to kiss on the collective corporate ass-cheeks. The really good managers are trying to do their jobs in the best manner possible, and avoid the falling axe of unemployment, at the same time. Let's face it... in the old LCA days, employee input was sought, on even the smallest of matters. These days, if you offer input or make a suggestion, you are labeled as a disgruntled and problem employee. Next stop, unemployment line!!!! Corporate is rife with know-it-all, college degreed punks who think that the sun rises and sets upon their knowledge and abilities. Don't get me wrong, college degrees are great, I have one myself and I chose to come to work here. I only hope that New Year will bring better employment opportunities for myself, and many of my colleagues, at LCA. Remember when it used to be fun to come to work? Remember when people worked TOGETHER? Remember when patients and clients mattered? Remember when accuracy counted? Yeah, I do, too! Those days are gone forever!
