You are seriously abusing your imagination. There will be many 50+ year olds RIF'd, thereby removing any potential appearnace of ageism or bias. Once it is over, you will receive the blinded list of those impacted and you will see that you have no leg on which to stand. Protected Class......good try. The NNI lawyers are a lot smarter (and probably meaner) than you.

I hope this is a sarcastic comment and you really don’t believe this. Age is the LEAST protected category in this company. Don’t take my word. The actions or inactions, I should say, tell you the worth people over 50 have here. Senior and executive leaders in fact have openly said in company meetings “we are working to promote and retain millennials”. There are Millennial and young leader ERGs. Silence from DEI/B and leadership regarding quotas for hiring, promotion and retaining people over 50. Zero training, awareness or broadcasts like you see for other protected groups . Fun fact GENx is promoted 20-30% slower than millennials in US. In countless surveys I’ve brought this fact up and asked for DEI/B to publish promotion rates for people over 50. Zero acknowledgment or response. Another interesting thing is that the definition of age protection here has gone from age 50 to anyone over age 40. So guess what? Millennials are protected in this category now as well. If you are over 50, an individual contributor, and there is a downsizing I would be very worried. Lack of support, training, awareness, quotas for hiring and retention of people of 50 or just ANY TALK OR SUPPORT AT ALL by senior and exec leadership have prompted me to keep my resume fresh and eyes open for other opportunities. People of 50 who bring wisdom, experience, and work ethic are not valued here. What I’ve experienced is individual contributors over 50 are seen as irrelevant, out dated, and tired and there is no protection to save you.
