Field trip eval scores, what are they for?

I have been working for forest for about a year and a half and am so confused by these scores!?! My scores usually range for. 3.1-3.4 regardless of what my numbers or call average is. I got a score under a 3. What the heck does this mean? No one will explain it, not ever HR!

Not sure if you meant you got one score under 3, or your overall score was under 3? If your overall score goes below a 3, that means they are starting "the process" to get you out. If that is the case, you should start looking for another job as the next 6-9 months will be hell for you and eventually they will let you go. Good luck.

Yes scores under 3 on the overall eval are not good. One trick is whatever is documented as your developmental need, start showing that immediately. Don't let anything be observed as a developmental need twice in a row. Then they can LOC you for it. However althoug a score less than a 3 does usually mean they are after you, I know people who have worked themselves back up.

I feel sorry for you, you have just been painted with a bullseye

you are now on the "unofficial" shit list that your RD and DM put together behind closed doors, this happened to me too

you may be able to fight it and get above the 3, but for someone who has been in the 3.2-3.4 range now to get a sub-3 for no reason, you tell me...

i would start looking for another job, then go on medical leave if too much heat is on you

and DO NOT sign any letter of warning or concern, a labor lawyer will tell you its an admission of guilt or wrongdoing, refuse to sign and ask HR to get involved (then go on med leave)

The eval score is a joke and doesn't mean anything. I haven't got above a 3.0 yet and I've been here for 2 years. It's just used as a way to intimidate an motivate by shitty managers. If your manager wants you gone then yes they can and will score you below a 3.0 as a paper trail but it doesn't always mean that's what your manager is doing. And another thing...if your manager tried to tell you that the field trip eval score is all tied to business results then they're full of shit. It's all based on behaviors but just take whatever score they give you because you're viewed as someone who is "hard to coach" if you don't. This company and it's mgmt really sucks!
