Fetzima, brilliant new anti-depressant

Savella isomer...that's all. Just a way to leave Savella in it's therapeutic class and bring a new anti-depressant at the same time. Savella is approved in Europe for Depression and is one of the most commonly prescribed anti-depressants. Instead of submitting the NDA packet for Savella for depression, they submitted the isomer. Doctors are not stupid. It would almost be the same if Cymbalta was sold under different names for mood than pain indications, only difference is with Cymbalta is same exact molecule with different MOA, but with Savella and new anti-depressant it's same MOA but an isomer. Patent scheme. That would have been the easier way to say it...

Has been here-

News flash--- this has been going on for a long long long time. My days it was prozac--- my god we took every angle to stretch that baby out and use it---- sarafem, prozac weekly, hell they were onto prozac rectal when the patent was finally gone! Other companies have also done this------- ever hear of SSRI's? They are all essentially different isomers of the same molecule.

Change the place of a double bond C or O and BAM now you've got a new blockbuster! It's all about the marketing---- not necessarily the drug.

Have a great day----

Have you seen forest's HCP site for Fetzima?? http://fetzimahcp.com

Is this really run by forest or an HCP like it says. Methinks they are fishing for information with that site.
