Feedback from MD's....negative

Please stop using ACell for mastectomies. IT IS OFF LABEL AND DOES NOT HELP PATIENTS. Just got negative feedback from one of my accounts who had used Acell for a mastectomy and he stated that it was way too thin and the patient got an infection. I was questioning why the rep had not warned him not to use for this indication but let it go.

ACell is off label for this indication, there was an FDA warning issued against using this material in breast recon. Please stop.

Also, please don't use ACell in any surgical oncology applications. The material is known to regenerate "site specific" tissue. In which case, if the doctor misses cancer cells, ACell can regenerate cancer. There is no literature to support that it wouldn't do this, so please don't come at me with your theories based on zero evidence. Thank you.

That's just caramel-ization (noun), (originating from made up, slow witted Texas slang):the process in which bio activity and remodeling via a patients own stem cells form site specific tissue. Known to smell like llamas poop.

I'm sorry doctor but the best and brightest scientists to come out of Columbia Maryland confidently tell you that it's all part of the show. Leave it undisturbed, cover it up and wait for the malpractice suits.

We'll leave you a gram of powder for your troubles
