Fanapt, Diovan, and Reclast Displacement

Diovan and Reclast are going generic. Fanapt is not "cutting the mustard" per national publications. Patients will use generic Diovan for hbp, generic za for osteoporosis and won't use Fanapt because of side effects and pricing. You all better be looking for jobs because counterparts of mine that were let go in Dec are having a hard time finding jobs in such a flooded market of displaced reps in Pharma. Several other companies are going to have another "blood letting" the end of this year and the availability pool of displaced reps gets larger while jobs become more scarce. Thanks Obama.

You must be an idiot. It's not Obama's fault. The industry is way over staffed with crybaby lunch people like you. You couldn't SELL if you tried. That and the fact that Novartis is the most unethical company on the planet will make your life worthless for years to come. Go get a job at Quizno's.

Well, no, you are wrong. It is 90% Obama's fault! Yes, he inherited a deficit from Bush, but he also contributed rather handsomly to the debt to the tune of 14 trillion to fund his socialist programs and grease the palms of his crony friends - Think Solyndra!
Reason for no jobs? Companies are not hiring now because they don't know how much they're going to take a hit on taxes - Obama wants to raise them with his so called jobs bills, he is stirring up the pot with his "class-warfare" politics, plus, this huge cloud looming over everyone's head called "Obamacare" is scaring business owners to death. It's a vicious circle: co's not manufacturing as much because people are not spending - companies are not spending - no new orders, jobs overseas-tax breaks or corporations; what few jobs are out there, everyone is afraid to spend a dime. You need to learn more about the situation. I would suggest listening to "Mark Levin" - conservative talk show host who is a constitutional attorney and worked on the Reagan campaign, as well as for you to read his book, "Liberty and Tierney"! When you're through, come on back here and I'll give you a pop quiz. Good Luck!

Come on man! you can't blame one man for a companies problems. Novartis problems have to do with zelnorm, galvus, arcapta, diovan and the rising cost of medical care in the us.

Simply: Novartis is losing about $10 billion in sales from drugs gone/going generic (Diovan, Reclast, Femara, Zometa and soon Gleevec) with either lesser drugs, new competition or no pipeline development approval for marketing to fill the $$$ voids.

What an idiot to blame the problems with the pharmaceutical industry on Obama!! Whether you like him or not, this decline began in the 90's, accelerated with the advent of Medicare D and now is simply the natural progression of a dying industry. The cretin who likes to spout the right wing mantra must love driving around all day listening to talk radio rather than working--after all, poor baby can't fight what the big nasty president is doing to him. Barf!! As a good Republican, I lost my job in Dec and had another one within 2 months--just get off your asses

You are not too bright Grasshopper. The explosion of pharmaceuticals happened in the 90s. Lack of innovation, regardless of payer type, is the reason for the stagnant market.

Must agree with both posters. Stagnent research, lack of innovation, Huge mistakes in overhiring, no accountability with upper management, Medicare D with no ability to flex with the times, and fear on the part of most sales reps. No one has the balls to rock the boat, most will take all the abuse heaped on them, and a few like previous poster will simply blame whoever the popular whipping boy (girl) may be!!

WOW!!! Do you wear a hat made out of tin foil. Stop putting the blame on everyone else, especially the President and take some responsibility on yourself. Pharma is dead because there are far too many reps. Novartis is toxic and if I were in charge would ban it from doing ANY business in the US due to it's complete lack of ethics and disregard for US law. Upper management should be placed in Jail and you my friend should just shut up and stand in the welfare line as you are lazy with no marketable skills.

Not lazy, just smart. Remember the President conned the big pharmas into signing into Obamacare, promising future business. Well guess what? It was a stupid thing to do! Yes, there are far too many reps..it began in the 90's. And yes, I do believe it is the pharma industry's fault. Boy when they need the boots on the ground, they got them. Now, when sales are bad, they spit you out! It's just business.
And no, I don't need to shut up. Last time I checked, this was still a "free" country to voice your opinion. And no, I dont' need to stand in the welfare line sweetie. I'm in my mid 50"s and own two homes - both paid for, one a rental and have quite a bit of change in the bank. Something your generation, I'm presuming you're an X'er or Y'er, will NEVER be able to accomplish because your generation spends every last penny on living large. Have fun while you continue to put into my SS fund...something else you will never ever see! Have a great day my friend!

This is just too easy. Lazy, you're posting at 1:03pm on a Friday. The last I knew, Friday is a work day! Why aren't you out making any calls? I too am in my 50's and left Novartis over five years ago after a very successful management career. Saw the writing on the wall with all the garbage from senior management. I own my own company and I am very close to paying off all my business loans. I am in control of my future and I don't blame anyone for roadblocks that get in my way. Sure, their are issues we all face but to blame President Obama for your lack of work ethic is lame. I'm guessing you're a divorced female that never had the guts to try and improve your future by taking a risk. Just a lame rep that blames all your troubles on someone else. Ouch, the truth hurts!!

Hooray for you!! Also started my own business after the December pogrom. I am doing very well, was able to finance from savings and am in the black. In addition, I do not have to rely on an inept company to write my paycheck, and am still working on a Friday because I don't have to put the blame on anyone!! My guess is that the whiner is a fat middle-aged man who never has done anything but shill for pharmaceuticals

Glad to hear you're doing well after last December. The whiner called me sweetie!! Any male in Corporate America knows better than to............., Oh yea, except for management at Novartis. Good Luck!!

For the one who thinks Novartis is so toxic, why don't you just leave. Oh wait a minute...you don't want to give up your big fat paycheck for doing work a monkey could do. If you hate corporate America so much, go hug a tree, and see what that buys you!

well, I'm hugging trees and getting paid to do it and I can tell you that it's a far better life style than having to put up with the largely hostile, discriminatory, and inept colleagues that Novartis clearly favored. They also can't spell worth a damn - see what that buys you during your next job search.
