Eye Care & Possible Valeant Purchase Predictions...

I have been with Allergan Eye Care for many years, and recently had my mirror counterpart get laid off back in January 2014, who is now a rep for Valeant/B&L selling prescription products to the same exact doctors in the same exact geographic territory.

From the posting on the Valeant Website (purchase benefit presentation), it seems that there is a very strong possibility that Allergan will be purchased by Valeant (why else post anything on Valeant Website for investors).

There is currently 1 Valeant/B&L rep selling prescription products in similar geographical territories to the same doctors as the 3 Allergan reps.

At best Valeant may keep 1 out of the 3 current Allergan reps in similar geographical territories selling prescription products to the same doctors.

Start looking for a new position, since we were all lied to by our USELESS Area Managers last time, telling us reps that there were no layoffs to come in January 2014.

In eyecare at bausch there are currently 2 of us selling rx in each territory. A white team and a blue team. Noone knows right now what will happen. Believe me, there's fear at bausch too that allergan reps will be chosen over them. Valeant is a performance based company.

Correct the Valeant rep is unsure if they have a job ,Im a new rep and they say they will pick the best rep who will be the best fit and has a good track record . We are not safe .

So with 2 Valeant/B&L reps to go along with the 3 Allergan reps in each territory the combined sales force will have 5 reps selling eye care Rx products to the same exact doctors!

No way Valeant will keep 5 Rx eye care reps in each territory, so layoffs will be inevitable if this deal with Valeant goes through!

Your are correct, maybe three reps total one for glaucoma, one for allergy, one for post op.
 








Newbie VP = GONE
Average RD's = GONE
Useless AM's = GONE
Wasteful Trainers = GONE
2-3 Sales reps per Territory = GONE (And based on the last layoff. Purple reps are safe and can be cut anytime by Valeant)
 




Seriously, every minute you spend on Cafepharma trying to figure out what's going to happen. That's one minute you could be spending on finding another job. If you think this will end nicely, just check out to what happened to the Warner Chilott reps and what's happening with Forest Pharmaceuticals (No Communications until the ax falls and we are all out of work)

Don't kid yourself, they will keep the valeant rep unless he is a total schmuck in EVERY case. They make $30k/yr less than you and valeant does not believe in base salaries.
