Experience with management

I talked to a couple of coworkers about their managers. It seems the organization likes to promote someone to the management position simply because they have been with the company for a long time. The managers would have very little technical knowledge about the fields they are managing. They have long entered the “get-paid-await-retirement” phase. This leads to two issue. The managers are resistant to change because they are used to the old way of doing things. Second, they intentionally make the high performers invisible to upper management for their own job security purposes. What are your experiences?
 






You must not work here. HD's and above are hired based upon the color of their skin, not on the content of their character. MLK is only mentioned here on his Birthday, but the Quita philosophy is, if you are of color, you are a victim that has been discriminated against, and you deserve more money than white people despite your lesser talent. If you are of color, or Asian, this is the company for you. If you are a talented white person, you best move on because eventually there will be complaints, and you will be targeted by minority HD's.
 


















To the original poster, yes I am having the same experience. If Genentech doesn’t go back to the classic field structure, Genentech will go down in history as the greatest failure in Pharma history. How many drug launches do you have to fail to recognize transformation was a fail? Ecosystems do not drive business! No incentives to perform. Sales need incentives, too many cooks in the kitchen with all these HD’s, and we need to contract with payers to compete.
Sadly Genentech is digging their own grave.

Yeah we have HD's, FRM's, BEM's, and several other worthless positions all vying for credit for any successes. Meanwhile TAM's are out there generating revenue so these other clowns can win awards and monopolize every meeting, self promoting. Sickening really....but hey I have completed 312 D&I trainings so I care.

No one, unless you are in Ophtha, can comment on the amount of work that’s being done. Territories span across multiple states and working 50+ offices. Why do you think we can’t make the worthless ecosystem calls? We are in the field days a week. Quit the whining and come see what it’s really like to work. Ask anyone that came over to Ophtha
 






So sad the science is so great but we are dealing with morons. The collection of stupidity is exceptionally high with Bob the BSer in Pennsylvania trying to stay above water. The ship is sinking. We have failed our founding fathers.

Have you ever seen a level of incompetence? Bob the buffoon is destroying the business many of us has built over the years. You can’t ask him a question, share an idea or have a difference of opinion. God forbid if you do! He will keep you from being recognized, off special projects and blocked from awards. He is the worst. He needs to go!
Someone needs to look into those Pittsburgh Galas. Who accounts for the amount of money he is blowing on tables at these dinners? All his Pittsburgh pilot besties get seats to hail the King with no clothes. As the ecosystem is in the bottom slot for the his total reign.
