Absolutely correct! As a black man, when I look around at the National Meeting in Vegas, I can certainly see the extensive use of racial quotas is use at Roche! In fact, I can certainly see how as white men make up close to around 50% of the Roche sales organization, there must be HUGE discrimination going on against them. I mean really, just look at our management, and you can clearly see all of the discrimination that European Americans are experiencing (male AND Female).

I am absolutely in agreement with that! I was being sarcastic with the comedian who implied that somehow there was some sort of racial quota at Roche, resulting to huge numbers of black people being hired. Well if he is correct, someone didn't get the memo. I think he/she should be happy they have a job, and stop trying to discredit others by implying that if you are black, the only reason you have your job/promotion is due to some illegal quota as opposed to your resume, and results.

There is no answer to that? PS: White women are not "minorities" as they make up the same %age of the population as white men (at least). Asians are not are protected class.

Also, it is a well known fact that being an attractive woman is a huge hiring factor in pharma sales, even more than attractive men. Just search the web and you will find hundreds of articles like this:

For white women becoming a lunch catering drug rep is not the issue, it is the management ranks where there is the challenge.

In any event, you can not put a %age or quota on this type of thing, it is illegal. You do however have to look at your hiring process to ensure that they are not discriminatory, even if unintended, the results are all that matters. For example, if your primary source of hiring entry level employees are Ivy league colleges, and the like, then the outcome will clearly be discriminatory, as there are very few blacks and hispanics at these schools. Affirmative action has nothing to do with quotas, for example in the case above taking an affirmative action couild mean expanding the pool of schools that you recruit in to ensure that your candidate pool is more inclusive.
