Exodus begins!

Now that qtr is over watch what is about to happen. You will see many good folks jumping off this sinker in droves. Pretty much everyone is seeking any opportunity to rid themselves of the cancer known as ISI.

To the original poster and bandwagoners:

maybe they were a little pre-mature down south or maybe this gig just ran its course for them. either way, there is a new platform that was extremely well received by the general surgery community at SAGES as well as Wall Street. Say what you want, after all it is your constitutional right, but robotics is here to stay and Intuitive has a lock on the market for the foreseeable future.

As far as the "exodus" you are so keenly aware of (and sounds like a part of), maybe some change will do some good for you and those folks. the question i have is why do you feel compelled to paint a picture of armageddon when you can take your experience and apply it elswhere and act like a professional?

good luck in your new endeavors and i know you will be watching what ISI does in the future. its going to be fun. at least you can say "i was part of that at one point"

One of the best posts I have seen on this board in a LONG time. Please feel free to re-post on any of the other bitchfest threads that x-employees or haters put up.
It's a great day at Intuitive!

Kool Aid drinker!

I got a call yesterday from a training buddy who told me about some of the reps down south giving notice. He said there are many more to come. Almost everyone I talk to indicates they are tired of the micromanagement style, heavy handedness of management and are leaving as soon as a good opportunity presents itself. The idea that management pushes on us to be nothing but a clone is outlandish. This is precisely why our #'s are off. Market saturation, overpriced capital, beating physicians over the head and "no real documentable clinical advantage" is why so many are looking. A new robot will do nothing but irritate our base. It won't bring in more patients and if anything be a short term capital boost until the next scheme comes along. Continue to drink from the corporate fountain if you choose!

All those who are wasting time complaining on Cafepharma about your jobs, please stop being a coward and take control of your situation. Either stay and make it better, or admit this wasn't the place for you and leave.

I'd love to know what you've done other than post anonymously on cafepharma, to try to improve your situation (answer is: nothing.) Move on and make room for someone who doesn't take a victim mentality and knows how to manage themselves.

Since you've obviously given up, it's probably better to stop wasting everyone's time and leave.
Seriously, life's too short to be a victim, move on to someplace you're happy. Please.

The last post was something all should consider. No organization will be perfect, ever. In addition, no employee of an organization will have a perfect performance or leadership. How this is handled is all the difference. If an individual truly has the aspirations of success as I am confident most of you have who read/ post on this site, stretch yourself outside your comfortable area and approach your issue and try and remedy the situation. I am confident you will find a person on the other end who may want to work through the issue with you and come out even greater in the end. If you do not even approach the issue, later you will regret not even having tried and just given-up. The fact of the matter is posting anonymously on a website about an individual is far from perfect behavior, also. When individuals refer to positive conflict, it is just that; an opportunity to work through an issue and grow. Stay honest to your team and leadership and they will nearly always reciprocate. There will be lapses and mistakes but don't dwell too long or you may just miss out on something great. If you truly believe you are not part of your issue or your issue is so much bigger than you, think again and you may feel more empowered than ever to do something such as try and work through it. It is amazing how great people perform once they feel responsible. Nearly everyone who posts/ reads on this site has the ability to be highly successful in their chosen area; just take a bit more control of your surroundings.

Well said... there's a great book out there called "The Oz Principle" that many have read, but not enough internalize... See it, Own it, Solve it, Do it is the recipe for getting out of a victim cycle. Your only real control is what you do in the face of challenge...

Another thing... I think it's a sad, but true fact of our society. People identify themselves and value by their job, but not how they do their job... if we all separated our ego from our position, we'd be a lot more effective better able to see the real picture. ISI isn't for everyone. Just because it isn't for you, doesn't make you better or worse than someone who loves it. Choose for yourself...
I realize I'm posting this in a place where people come to complain and commiserate with others who are struggling to deal with challenges, but really, at it's core, the real question is what are you going to do about your situation?

OK- go ahead and bash... I'm good with my choices...
