Excessive turnover and checked out reps

Never really seen it in any pharma company ive worked for. Avg Bausch tenure gotta be 1.5 years it's unreal. Why do you think everyone is leaving and looking. I know about 50 reps didn't get a bonus check so I imagine they are all gone and checked out i knoe i would be. But also same people always win platinum and rediculous goals that they might peel back. Why else?

Didn't use to be that way. Before PS and KK came here, most of the original reps that launched the LE brand were still there, or in promoted positions. Even the first LE expansion people from 2006 to 2007 were still there. Was very little turnover. The second KK came in and fired managers and reps, put in their own people, that 1st year 2008 2009 was a killer on morale. Top reps and managers left, since then you have had many territories turnover 4 or more times in as many years. Crazy, but makes no difference, B&L is dead.

As for goals. KK and PS manipulated goals when they first showed up and gave low goals to their favorites and high goals to those they wanted gone. Even when those they wanted gone hit their high goals they cooked the results and adjusted the monthlies down. We know they did it, we know who they did it to. Eventually those people that were ripped off ended up leaving. So when your very best leave due to practices like that it is no wonder the place is a wreck.

The same thing was still going on this year. How many people went on platinum that were out performed by other people. Go figure it out. KK is a low life dirtbag.

I've been in vision care for a couple of years and 2 words come to mind....Hot Mess! Everything is a constant fire drill, they don't even give us a full month cycle to see all of our accounts, before they stop letting us get product into offices. So as a result, we over promise and under deliver, because we were told one thing, then it gets changed 2 weeks later. Embarrassing......

No doubt! I used to get all fired up when Vision Care changed things around from what was promised.. And honestly I could care less now. I won't seed the market for a new product now until a sales meeting is planned for the launch. And only then it's game on the idea that only one PV2 product has 30 day ext wear is very stupid and embarrassing. Someone f'd up bigtime and cost us a ton of sales and market share. But hey I'm riding this thing into the ground

Only one company has 30 day extended wear on all 3 segment of lenses......announced today. If your in vision care and can't capitalize on the great news we got today, your worthless and we don't need you. Go back to renting cars or pushing copiers, and the rest of us will make some money with pv2 family and regain our multifocal market share at the same time.

Oh chill out. No need to get snarky. Yes it's great that we FINALLY have EW approval
And don't worry. We all plan to make up for what crappy FDA submissions cost us

how does this help you when patients routinely where other lenses longer than that. I'm not in VC and don't know much about lenses. But this feels to me much the same about getting a dosing approval equivalent to another company and they already have the share because the docs like it better. going to be hard to convert docs to rx your product for ew when they are already rxing other products know full well the patient is going to abuse them because they are more comfortable than anything else.

where am i going wrong with this?

Well....yes and no. But that is why we call it sales. Keep finding reasons for the doc to reach for your lenses...

i'm sorry were you calling contact lens, " sales".
It's called marketing. Or repping, but It's definitely not sales.

get a broke ass OD to write a check for 70k for a device. That's sales. now go get that rep car washed for your ride along.

By the way not a dude but a successful working mom-oh it's called b2b sales. They didn't want anyone who was a pharma rep. I sold b2b for years on 100% commission. SALES. So get over your device~yours is probably a small one anyway

Very well said, I couldn't have said it better myself! These lenses are NOT easy to sell, like that jackass seems to think. This is truly a SALES job, that we have to work for!!!

don't understand why people are always tearing each other down. contact lens is decent gig, but like pharma both are really account management. very similar to pharma. they rx the product with or without you. the goal is to expand share. If they changed the comp structure and paid CL people more commish it would be more sales driven. Sure sometimes you win over new accounts that weren't rxing anything, get a little share and grow it. just like pharma. neither are true sales jobs but I would agree there is more selling in contacts than drops. Unfortunately lens is considered entry level ophthalmic sales based on average base salaries and total comp. it's a decent gig. i was 100% commission b2b too. Got into pharma, then B&L rx, now devices too. Can't tell me it is anything like 100% commish type jobs. devices are more like 100% commish, definitely a ball of stress but the payoff is nice when you rock it out. 200k is real 300k is possible 150k and you're fired. I don't know any CL people making 150. Maybe there are?? what's top BL CL rep make? that's the reality of devices. stress stress stress gotta hit the numbers but if you hit them you get paid. Also devices are really autonomous. No micro at companies i have been with. That's worth it right there. 200k and it's like you own your own business. cool perk of the job.

Can any one help me out? what is the environment like in the lens division? How is the pay? i see alot of jobs posted, why are people leaving? Is this a good place to persue a career?

Just check out the past posts on this site. This company micromanages the reps to hell. You'll be lucky to last 2 years and then they will conveniently downsize your terriorry and pay a 1 week severance for every year you worked. It's a hiring/firing strategy. This company truly has one of the highest turnover rates in any pharma company. Stay away unless you ate desparate for a paycheck. Average base arpund $70-90k, commissions, car. Rest assured whatever territory you take the doc is used to seeing a new B+L rep like the flavor of the month. You'll be asked to hit goals and if you don't produce then you'll be out.

90k, lmao! More like 70k, and good luck getting promoted...
