VP of Sales= Sold Wine for a number of years prior to coming to Viro as a Regional Sales Director for 1 year. Experience prior to his 1 year RSD role was "big pharma" Vaccine Sales 12 years ago.
There are 4 RSDs at Viro. The Sr. RSD at Viro has 11 months experience. 1 RSD has approximately 5 months at Viro and prior to that he was an associate/friend of the Manager of Americas-dental sales again. 2 RSD positions remain open-interviews and offers have been made, but candidates are declining.
3 RSDs have been systematically removed in the last 12 months. 1 RSD was a Sr. RSD and had been at Viro since launch. 1 RSD was leading the nation in new patients, and other metrics. Looks like, if you question "big pharma" mind set at this once "orphan disease" focused company you will be displaced.
Only 11/24 Sales Specialist have more than 1 year experience selling Cinryze. Majority of the 11 are seeking new opportunities. Half of people with less than a years experience are seeking new opportunities.
VP and Manager of Americas calls Sales Specialists asking about "culture," but everyone is afraid to be honest with them. Retaliation has taken place at Viro.
Sales Specialists were "displaced" after 1st quarter if they did not find a new patient. Sales Specialists were displaced after 3rd quarter even if they were only 2 patients away from hitting their yearly quota.
Territories and Regions were just realigned. True fear from Specialists about whether or not they will find new patients in Q1. If history repeats itself they could soon be without jobs so most are being proactive about pursuing new opportunities.
