Every dollar

VV if we are told to watch every dollar. Well why are we paying for your apartment, car and food. We should all just ask you at the next poa?

To be frank, I think we all know if you were to meet VV the talking points would include "nice to meet you sir." The fact of the matter is whether you are a Supernus/Shire rep VV is one key figure which has impacted a companies ability to employ you.

Shire reps, no matter what ingredients you think attributed to ADD XRs success VV steered that ship. The arguing points may include an industry at that time which provided an environment for a ADD XR to thrive, VV still saw Shire through FDA turmoils pre ADD XR that led to Shires ability to develop and launch ADD XR in a thriving market.

Supernus reps, frustrated? I think that is an understatement, right? I know we hear this on cc all the time but its true. We are the only one's that can control what happens in our territory. If your not happy with your bonus look inwardly, is there something you can improve on? If you cant take ownership and are focusing on other factors RD/ZD/upper mgmt/territory obstacles you might as well throw in the towel for sales in general. If its something you can't control in the short term, hit the low hanging fruit. If that's limited, focus on what's there. We heard earlier this week that we are ahead of forecast on TXR by almost 40%, I was still disappointed when I looked at my mkt % after the cc as I am sure a lot of you did as well. No matter what obstacles you are facing you still control the movement within your territory, if you don't have that mindset you will continue to be disappointed.

Reps across the country know if they have a loaded territory or not. Some have to work harder than others depending on the numerous variables state over state. Some reps with money territories don't work it and still make money/whereas other reps with money territories bust ass and kill it in their territories. It could be argued, VV may have been allotted a loaded Health Care Market during the launch of ADD XR but he killed it. As a result of this you can also thank him for doing more than servicing a loaded market, with this it supplied you the revenue to buy the rights to Vyvanse. To those Shire vets you should be disgusted if your coworker has this outlook, to those new at Shire you should probably work on connecting the dots.

Haaaaa the only person with enough time and no life to write that type of response on CP is Wendy or WP. WP don't you have enough to worry about with your floundering region? Will wait for a response (shouldn't be long since you live on this site). NS would be proud of your "defense" of this "great" company, right?

Ummmm....think you're only 50% here. I think VV is a wonderful man and a very intelligent guy. No doubt that he's touched many people's lives for the better.
By reading so many of these posts it seems as if there is still sort of a "one size fits all approach".... right target, message, frequency, etc. And I'm sorry, but those days are long gone. You have some of these top management guys who have not spent time in "tougher markets" (NOT the south!!) How do you help to provide solutions when you haven't really lived the problems? Do you know how many times I've had field sales trainers come to my area to work with counterparts and end up calling me to see if what they witnessed was normal....as they had never experienced it before. (lunches not allowed, docs will sign something but you can't speak to them, can make one appt. per year, the downright rudeness of people, offices that ban reps and don't even allow you to leave anything, etc.)
This doesn't even touch upon closed formularies, bundling of products, clinic systems, etc.
You state whatever obstacles you face you still control the movement within your territory. Sorry Charlie...WRONG! You must be one of these people I'm referring to. This isn't a mindset. It's reality. So if you can't see that this is reality than you are in a dilusional state that others have suggested. Do you also tell your reps that "there's no such thing as a no-see doc?"????????? What a joke.
-If you have a doc in a closed formulary health system they probably can't write your med if it's not on their formulary, they might get "written up" and sent a letter, or they could miss out on their end of year bonus.
-If you finally do have a doc who's a bit interested in a private practice who's not under as many constraints from a large health system (just his entire well-being as he's running his own business) they don't have the time or man power to do a PA so that's not an option either.

I could continue but it's past my bedtime!!

Bottom line, this is not the 90's when pharmaceutical reps were admired and actually were viewed to help docs and their staff. (wasn't selling then but it's what I heard) These aren't the days when you sweet talk the receptionist to find out the docs favorite doughnut and "tah dah"...you're in! These aren't the days when docs actually looked to pharmaceutical co's for education/information. We are laughed at now... We are avoided like the plague.
So, unless you already have some amazing relationships in place, have great coverage or rep in Texas ( :) couldn't resist) than you DON'T control the movement in your territory. ALL of these other outside, UNCONTROLLABLE (by the rep) factors determine the movement, regardless of how strong the rep is!!!
