Looking at a job with this division and was wondering about the market and the culture of the company? IS this a good opportunity? Trying to reach out to a few reps on Linkedin but things seem slow during the holidays so waiting on replies.

What is the comp plan for someone with 15 years calling on PUD's and a good track record? Drug out two years, how is it doing?

Thanks!

All good questions for the hiring manager. If you move forward in the process you should ask for an opportunity to meet with other reps in the area. Do your due diligence and compete for the position, comp is all relative to your expectations.

Just realize that some responses you are likely to get on this site tend to be biased towards the negative and not reflective of the majority. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the advice but I was hoping to get a range on pay and not necessarily a managers thoughts on how the drug is doing. I don't want to waste anyone's time if this isn't a good fit out of the gate. I am making $140K with $25K in bonus at plan. Looking for at least 10% raise to move. Is this reasonable at Genentech? More importantly, how is the drug doing? What is the market like? Rare drugs aren't always easy to sell due to the small market and large territory.

Unless you're a rock star, you'll likely get at best what you've been making for base. At plan, bonus is $35k.

Drug will exceed $600 million probably for 2016 in 2nd year of launch with a competitor, I would say that it is doing good. I do not think you will be paid 10% more, but they also give some stock at sign on and each year and if you are looking for a long term home they also have a great savings program with match PLUS 6% of your your salary into a 401K. Look at the whole picture. Also, there are 20,000 or so new IPF patients per year and the territories are small.

An over bloated sales force that doesn't deliver on the revenue numbers! Means cuts are coming. New CEO is all business, as we saw at NSM. How many times do revenues need to be adjusted? 100 + reps for a rare disease? Thats twice as many reps as Lucentis and equal to Xolair with 10 times the patient volume and several indications. Doesn't make sense and the numbers prove it doesn't make sense.

Overpaid starbucks delivery people driving audi's.

Rep calling on primary care in my territory. WTF

The market will correct the highly overpaid workforce.

When Gene corrects it's mess in the field it will 1st start here and work through the company.

Good luck...

Its such a shame to see someone jealous of Scott and his accomplishments. Its shame that a jealous, probably a millennial idiot, is hating on someone who worked hard, accomplished goals, and through his efforts enable the company to grow and ultimately give an idiot like you a job. Its disturbing when people hate on successful people instead of be envious. This is why America is going down the tubes.

Not hating at all and not a millennial either. Having tried to have real conversations with him over the years, it was evident that he was not interested in communicating with someone he doesn't have to work with. Knowing several of those he does work with, it's fairly evident that he is milking this for all it's worth. There are others who also fit this bill such as S Lively.....pompous bitch

So he doesn't want to have a conversation with you and that makes him a bad person? Why do you feel so entitled that one should have conversations with you? You may not be a millennial but think like one. SVO wasn't interested in conversing with you and by your attitude I can see why. Maybe you should be more insightful and maybe you'll know why SVO didnt want to converse with you. Maybe you creeped him out? He probably read you right away and didn't want any part of you. Try developing your emotional intelligence. In the meantime he is successful and you're probably not. The guy has been at the Co for 25 plus years dealing with this BS, let him have his 15 minutes, don't be jealous since you're not on the big stage getting accolades. jealously is such a bad disease i tell ya

You are so wrong. I am even questioning you have spoken to him! He has been doing it for years. Enough said.
