Energy division restructuring

Just heard from people who just left a meeting that sweeping changes are coming mid January. Downsizing of the group and repositioning it for further changes. Goodbye to field clinical people and ASR’s. First of many to come.
 


















This decision is coming down after the new year. Energy division will continue to be picked apart until nothing is left other than a very small sales force to try to maintain the base revenue. This decision was brought on when it was decided that HPG awarded the new energy contract to Ethicon. Just another disconnect between corporate and the reality of the market. They were counting on being added on this contract, but now, they will end up losing and all Thunderbeat and Legacy PK business at HPG accounts. That loss coupled with the lack of growth potential will further cripple energy at the largest GPO in the country. Expect the other GPOs to follow suite, keeping energy locked out for another 3-5 years. No more carve outs for legacy PK and strict contract compliance on these new contracts will drive the business further down.

After this round of layoffs for all the extra non revenue producing positions associated with energy, expect another restructuring that will now have some SE reps/territories experimenting with selling Energy as SE will be slowly starting to merge with GI. Too many reps in the field calling on the same hospitals/surgeons with not enough growth and profit to sustain all the expenditures.

This is the typical 4th quarter cost slashing when we are behind our number to try to make our profitability number. RC is more about micromanaging and slashing expenses/overhead than growing the business to reach expectations, and this is just the beginning. Another Merry Christmas present from RC and Olympus

So how will this affect Urology, specifically? Sorry - new guy here...

If Legacy PK and Thunderbeat business is out at HPG - is this business protected still since its "Urology" - or can other companies come take our business?
 












Yep definitely confirms what I heard. If your paper is not on the street better hurry. Severance packages will be non existent! Just heard that last week. Thanks to all who add to the thread so hopefully it will help the less informed act faster.
 












Come on Really? Since Vinny is the new AVP, he will get us headed into the right direction. His region is on fire and it is all because of his leadership! BAH HA HA HA. We all know what the real deal is
 






Vinny ,Vinny he is our guy . Because of his incredible leadership we have gained so much new business! He was so instrumental and really created a strategic funnel of new business. NOT!!!!!
We all know who did what ,and who really deserves the fruit of his labors and its not you or the existing rep! KARMA always wins .
 


















Should’ve been done 2-3 years ago. Anyone truly looking at numbers who isn’t delusionally optimistic would know energy was not making a marked impact in the space. PK is nearly gone, and TB is hot as satan’s schlong. And, don’t get me started on the smoke stack “kit”. Oops, did I say that? Worst of all, corporate buffoons (Drew, Vinny, Kevin, Tanner) were either too scared to shoot upper management straight, or they had their heads buried in sand. Olympus never has listened to reps who actually know what the hell is going on. And, they surely didn’t want to hear the truth. Classic corporate sales disconnect. See a territory where rep performed due to circumstances such as JNJ & MedTronic pissed off all the docs/hospital, and sought any other viable, or urology/SE rolled out the red carpet. Then, think all other territories should do same. Or, hold quotas near Pre-robotic numbers, etc. All the while, lying to , and hoping to ride it out a few years more. True leaders want to hear the truth...regardless of the news or who delivers. Don’t want to be perceived as negative. Oh well. Face it Olympus, your
portfolio is not enticing enough to have hospitals want to work with energy.

Extremely Abusive, Toxic & Underpaid

Have to actually become profitable for shareholders. Then someone has to pay for all those DOJ fines.

How many years will the reps be paying for the exec’s illegal deeds?

How long can accounts and the market deal with the turn over and inexperienced reps. How long, 5/10/20 years?

How many people will sacrifice their career/life to pay back the DOJ and turn OCA around to being profitable?
 






Today it’s likes bees in a hive. Everyone running around, doors opening and closing. To those in support positions my advice is to get your paper out there. Don’t be left out in the cold. Changes are going to happen so fast!
