From what I've read so far it seems Olympus is in a bit of a mess.

Opening for the above position I've been looking at. Any info on compensation and benefits and mangement would be welcome.

I understand i'll be told to avoid, killself etc. Just want some honest feedback on all fronts. Current gig is also in a bit of a shitstorm so a device job with a known company is appealing at the moment even if it is in flux from what ive read so far.

Even with all the shit, it could be the best job in the business, if the company would get its head out of its ass and build the support and infrastructure at the corporate office to support the demand and challenges we face.

The product is hands down the best in endoscopy, we just launched a new endoscopy platform, and there is never a shortage of demand for you to come in to work with the physicians or staff, so access is absolutely no problem. It would be the most unique experience from that standpoint that you've probably ever encountered.

The challenges are all from within...

Money should be 150 at an absolute minimum, to 300+. We get paid on profitability, so if it is a place where there is competition (they are much cheaper) if you have to drop your pants to get the deal, you won't get paid much.

It all goes with the capital cycle, and would depend on when the hospitals are upgrading to the newest system.

You are also responsible for disposable devices, repair service, etc. so there is truly never a dull moment with this job.

Kind of like running through fire in a gasoline suit.

I would take it, and if you can deal with the shit well, you'll be ok.
