End of year predictions

Changes coming before the end of the year. One rumor is the ADs will now have CRV responsibility, which will result in the elimination of a few of the ADs.

Sheehan finally out.

What other changes are you hearing?

Possibility of Ray Elliott taking over Medtronic as their CEO

What other changes are you hearing?

Medtronic CEO Bill Hawkins is retiring in April 2011. MDT Board is actively looking outside for a new CEO. There seem to be some distant unconfirmed rumour is they may be targeting Ray Elliott for the position.

Whatever, he has an EA and non-compete.

Clock will strike 12....ball will drop in Times Square...somewhere a Boston device will fail...the beat goes on...

Re: Possibility of Ray Elliott taking over Medtronic as their CEO

Apart from EA and non-compete; Ray will not be interested jumping the ship. He has now started to turn the corner in BSX. The stock price is constantly improving and some new devices in CRM are on their way.

However, the staff morale is low and something must be done in that direction. Ray let go some people who were asset to the BSX and that loss is irreparable.

The Cognis and Teligen are black mark not only on the face of BSX but on the entire CRM industry; with the introduction of new cans C/T cans need to be phased out as soon as possible.

On the basis of current indications BSX will improve considerably in 2011; however it will be a very slow process but will happen.

If C/T's replacements are the answer, how soon is that?

Ironically, C/T (...and the Aurora quality improvement program that they were heralded under...) were supposed to be the answer for the Vitality, Prizm, etc. etc. issues.

As a BSX employee, you have no choice but to believe that the next round of products will be the ones that renew confidence in the company. You want to believe that you won't be explaining a new set of shortcomings to already skeptical physicians.

The good news for BSX is this. EVERYONE was sure that ANY problems with C/T would mean the end of BSX. Then - the cans were pulled! This was it. The 2 months came and went, and here we are still talking about BSX. The customers don't care. Give them a 5% discount on the next bulk and they'll buy whatever. Similar to the Stockholm Syndrome, BSX loyal physicians look upon their BSX reps with empathy instead of disdain, and glibly shake their heads as they sew in the next Cognis...

That EA's are coming due and people are gonna bolt??? especially in places where their former leaders left (there's a list somewhere on this board of like 35/80 regional managers who left in the last 18 months). People follow people not shitty companies.

INCEPTA™, ENERGEN™ and PUNCTUA™ CRTD Devices were approved recently

If C/T's replacements are the answer, how soon is that?

..

After I left BSX some three years back, I have lost touch of the new devices in the pipeline. However, are these new devices:

INCEPTA™, ENERGEN™ and PUNCTUA™ CRTDs have been CE Marked recently, I am wondering are these C/T replacements or theey are just old wine in a new bottle?

Can someone confirm?

These are totally new product families powered by dilithium crystals and anti-matter.

You got it all wrong. The new product families are actually powered by flux capacitors. When Ray was a director, and even today as CEO, he has a secret laboratory deep underground beneath BSX HQ in Natick, where Ray perfected these new product families to work with the flux capacitors.

This is NOT a new platform, but BSX is utilizing the Romulan Cloaking Device to disguise the C/T technology.

The BSX media release says:

"They are the world's smallest and thinnest high-energy devices and offer extended longevity over legacy platforms."

I am more inclined to think that these are C/T cans under new names!

I am wondewring what BSX is telling FDA to get these cans to market?

Don't you pay attention to your own management? The said that they were going to rebrand C/T after the fourth recall....
