How is Caris donating emr software below resale value? I have 2 quotes from Provation and Caris is involved with one priced less than half the cost of the one from the vendor.

I need to know this is legal and clean. What is the relationship caris has with some emir vendors?

We bought licenses and resell them to the client at a low rate. We can resell at any price we want. Our team installs and supports the software for free. What's wrong with that?

Its illegal to give the physician something of value that he would routinely have to pay for in order to induce the referral of business that is reimbursed by any government payer. "Reselling" software below market rate or below what you paid for it is inducement and illegal - period!

Hmmm, not illegal? Spend $50,000 and resources to install and train a lame software package at a huge practice and only charge them $3500 for it...oh, and they don't send pathology? You're right, it would be illegal if we tried to connect that savings with the client sending pathology so fine, lets not connect it.

And now we're getting in bed with gMed again? Awesome. Hey, lets all just go find jobs selling software. Who needs pathology? I really mean that. Some of you SD's are very skilled at selling software. It might be a better gig.

So Caris is selling ProVation too? I thought that was Miraca's pet project.
