Can it be done from the inside, or must the company split into pieces, a veritable un-FIPNET a la Carl Icahn

Seriously the little guy can't do anything it has to come from the top and a complete management change. Lilly has a very toxic culture and many drastic changes need to be made. If the employees were able to change it I believe it would already be done. I think it all started with Sidney ....at least for the time being Lilly is done as a good company.

Lilly's epm process is a vicious cycle of failures. What was meant to encourage and reward good behaviors and good people has become a complete disaster of lies, deception, unhealthy competition, make believe projects reps have to make up to look good. The whole year is spent conjuring up the biggest bunch of BS and ways to suck up to a manager for the sake of an epm. Managers are at fault if they are so simple minded to fall prey to this and not be able to see the truth. Granted, all the managers I knew were just that simple minded....company nincompoops who couldn't look beyond the brown sh*t stuck on the end of their own noses. and to my manager from last year who isn't even with this company any longer, I hope you read this and think to yourself.....wow that's me. I can't believe I was that into self-promotion to play these stupid games.

I would still be there if not for the PM "philosophy" (I can't believe they call it that...).

Seriously over about 5 years, despite the PM system, my work output tripled... twice. Lures of advancement dangled before my weary eyes, then come PM time, my reviewer would pick up the phone and say, "oh, we have to downgrade you on a certain rating." ---Zero sum game. One of my associates had an IT guy husband very very close to the top of someone very up high, and knew all the ins and outs, she was disgusted with how I was treated (because I treated her very well, like I do everyone). Got to the point where I turned down a couple great jobs, and the next time my boss picked up the phone and gave me that look I started clearing my items stealthily over a few weeks and ***poof***

You know, I met some great friends at Lilly - the ones who also left are still great friends. The ones who remain are so FUBAR in the head, I don't even know them anymore.

Get out. But not now. Set it up so that YOU win. Nothing less.
