Effect of Mexico tariff on JNJ

With a huge chunk of JNJ manufacturing in Juarez, Mexico, primarily for BWI & Ethicon, any idea what impact it will have on JNJ? A 25% tariff is a lot of money. Will the costs be passed onto customers, or will there have to be layoffs, or perhaps both?

Long-Term is a positive to close those sites, including Puebla, and return the jobs to the U.S. thus eliminating the low cost slave labor.

There will be more than a 25% tariff on Mexican imports that will impact J&J. Read a (credible) newspaper and understand ALL of the changes that this new criminal administration will put in place that will negatively affect J&J and life as you know it.

increase to 50%. Bring jobs back to your country and stop using non-union exploited cheap slave labor from Mexico & Costa Rica. They know they are slaves. Product quality will improve

price of my nacho chips will go up by alot. what the fuck.

Why do you think J&J went to Juarez and hired 30,000 employees anyway? Because they made better quality? Nope, so J&J could pay slave labor wages of $1 per hour back then. Greedy Greedy. Then Mexican wages slowly increased in Juarez so what did we do, outsourced to Jabil. Starting all over now in Cozy Costa Rica. J&J Quality Schmality. I don’t want the drugs & devices that go in my body from Mexico. Been to Juarez lately? Nasty Nasty.

Hospital GPOs have signed agreements with medical device manufacturers with a prenegotiated price for their products. With a 25% tariff, JNJ will have to eat the cost until the existing contracts with GPOs are up for renewal.

How will JNJ eat the cost? I suspect there will have to be some combination of layoffs and product discontinuations.

Tariff delayed 30 days and likely indefinitely. Bargaining chip for more border security on the Mexican side. Done!
