Hours are usually 7am-4pm, some nights and weekends, in the OR daily, base is about $60k, small bonus for hitting manager determined objectives. 12 months to transition into a Full Line Position (must be mobile). That position is base of $75k, bonus of $60K. Realistic $125k-$150k position.
Thank you for the informative post.
Do you have any idea how it relates to Trauma for example....weekends I would be working typically 7-4 or along those lines. Is it the same kind of hours or do you have more freedom on weekends? Also do they encourage pursing an MBA?
Thanks again.

No real trauma products. In 5 years I may have been in the or 3 times on the weekend (10 if you include weekend staff inservices). The 4 PM closing is just a target, about once a week I am stuck in an OR 90 minutes from my house at 10:30 at night (this is usually determined by how much you want to sell). As far as MBA goes, after 12 months if your territory is in good shape, and your DM and SD like you, they will reimburse you for any class that you get a B or better in. you front the $$$, they reimburse. JNJ loves MBAs, but if you are going to just stay in sales, it is a waste of time.
Great job if you want to focus on your MBA because it is really a part time job (once you get through training and get the hang of things.) There is another thread with rep stating he/she sits at home most days and the replies support it.
No one will ever tell you it's a part time job...everyone will quote you the company line (7am-4:00pm) and then give you some BS about occasionally they have to work weekends. There is no one who needs/wants an EES rep around on weekends....why? Because they can't use harmonic with out you? They can't insert a trocar or fire a stapler?
Point is its a good job to get into the industry but there is a culture of hype in this company.[/
It really depends how much time you feel is necessary to spend in the OR. I like to target a surgeon, get them comfortable with the product and move on. The amount of OR time with them varies from 3-10 cases. Others feel they need to be in the OR all the time even if a new productis not being used. I personally feel this is a waste of time but there are many put there that would disagree.
This is a great job with good pay and you are not on call like the trauma reps. There is a lot of politics at EES and as long as you play the gameyou should be just fine.
