Edward Mead Johnson

You guys are such a scam. I've seen this GREAT site advertized on other sites like Abbott etc. Go find some other suckers.

OP here. Not a scam as I got it within 4 days exactly as promised. Where do you think that I found it? yes, at another site on CP. Think what you want but it is a very unusual gift that I now have hanging in my office. Maybe after you have been around for 25+ years like I have you will appreciate some history about our company. Some people collect cans of metrical or pablum or dextra maltose (have you ever even heard about these kid?) but I collect historical documents and one about the founder of our company is a rare gem.

Heard about Pablum???? I ate Pablum... so I've been around for a while. I too love history so for $15.00 I can get a copy of a copy of a copy. That's not exactly what I would call a historical document. I admire E. Mead Johsnon and everything he stood for such as a quote he wrote, "As long as there is an Mead Johnson, we will always have Christmas week off." Well, not so much any more. Just don't forget to put Christmas vacation down as a "floating holdiay".;.AND don't forget to buy a copy of a copy of a copy of mine.

Op here. I also not only ate Pablum but growing up drank Metrical (it had a horrible taste as I remember). I wonder if any of the newer reps have heard about our blunders in the past with Smurf vitamins, Neutracil, Vasodilan, or products that we never promoted that are still around such as megace. I still have a mucomist machine that i use to blow up plastic toys!

According to the web site, the actual document was digitized and restored and when I got it, it was put on 11 x 14 parchment paper. I thought that the narrative about E. Mead that went along with it was pretty neat as well.

OK, like # 6 I was skepitical about getting a copy of a copy. I could also care less about Edward Mead Johnson. However, I was an army officer before joing MJN and my interest is General George Patton. I have an entire room filled with his memorabilia. However, I have to say that never seen his census record offered anywhere. So I ordered not only that but his passport application as well. I will now have to agree with the OP as I received his 1930 census record and it showed me things and gave me information that was unusual and rare such as where he actually lived (3117 Woodland Avenue, Washington, DC), how much he was paying in rent at the time ($1,000/a month), that he had 13 servants, told me about his children, where everyone was born, his occupation as a Lt in the US Army etc. etc. The passport application that I bought for even less money was also the real deal. It gave me his actual passport application #76685 issued on June 11, 1912 and it was for his attending the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm, Sweeden to compete in the military pentathalon. These were in pristine condition and no way that they looked like a copy of a copy at all. I am taking them to have them framed this afternoon.

This is the worst thread ever. Who gives a rats ass, and if I see anything related to mead johnson on paper I am wiping my ass with it. Mead Johnson is a shell of it's former self, and is run by monkeys.

Well I see that you are a very mature individual. For those of us who have retired, had a great pension and 401K plan, and made a career with MJN, something like this about E. Mead Johnson is interesting and a great piece of memorabilia. Yes, the company does not have the leaders that we had years ago in the 1970's, 1980's and 1990's when I was there but if you are so unhappy why don't you just leave? Go find something that will make you smile everyday instead of being bitter. Son... life is way, way too short, go do something else.

I agree, but with that said, there seems to be this aura that surrounds the good old days. In fact, MJN has always had its gooduns and baduns. There have always been cycles to the way they do business and the leaders they have.

So, in effect, it probably is not so bad as you think and for sure, it will change. Just give it time. The past was not perfect and neither will the future be.

Excellent comments...there were good and bad leaders. Remember the President who committed suicide?

Thanks for the suggestion. One of my sons is a pilot and I bought the Wright Brothers actual record for him while another son is a basketball nut and I bought him James Naismiths census record and had both of them framed...a very cool and unusual gift
