DSO

An exercise of buzz words today. Didn’t we rid ourselves of silos a few years ago? What about the push for cross functional working several years ago? I think nobody really understands the DSO model and they just say words, meaningless words to sound believable.

Same buzzwords that other Pharma organizations have used recently during their reorganizations. Leadership just doesn't know what the structure to pull this through will look like. Big changes ahead. The current business model you describe is not sustainable. Stay informed so you can make the best decision for yourself and career.

I think they mean DSO in business units, with the focus on the customer at hand within that business unit.

It’s a completely different model that Bayer used in the past with “silo’s”.

Buzzwords, corporate BS babble. Does it mean anything? Yes and no. I’m sure if you WANT to believe there is an actual philosophy to this then you can convince yourself of it….but really the basics are - we are not making money like we should, we need to get rid of people & save money….and it just sounds better if we pretend there is a larger principle behind it

layoffs is the bottom line

All this being said- what is the point of a development plan or working toward next rung in the career ladder when all you see and observe are 1) threats of pending layoffs 2) incompetence among directors, executive directors, SVPs, etc. Do people truly see a future if history generally repeats itself at Bayer? Talk about zero damage control.
