DOUBLE STANDARD

That's funny - I recall a Lilly boss suggest that I take training home to do with a couple beers.

Violating Redbook -- taking home corporate material home. Report this to HR to keep your job.

On the other hand, Supreme Court's recent enunciation give rather broad classification on "work" time. If appropritately given work to do at home, I think you should do to keep paycheck. Big loss to employees by this SC decision.

We get the same treatment from our DM. She sends out policies expecting us to be with customers from 8 to 5 (and even longer when we have evenig programs) but we all know that she attends her kids school events in the afternoons and she won't take calls from any of us.

A few years ago I was hired as a new sales representative at Eli Lilly. My district manager insisted that all of his sales representives reside in in their territories even when those locations were sometimes remote and undesirable. Okay, I understand why he did that even though I didn't like it.
I just found out that this same district manager is moving back to live in Indianapolis even though his district is in the Diabetes Division and is basically the entire state of Michigan.
Thank you Rick Pruyne. I see that your own rules do not apply to you.

Cuts are coming so (s)he wants to stay where policies are made. (S)he is trying to protect h(is|er) job. Are you trying to protect your job? Start looking for internal transfers, or better look outside. double standards or racism or bigotry or favoratism are all rampant in the company...sleep with the manager's manager, and you are good to go another 5 years. Send a meeting email...just you are staying overnight/wkend in the town and has no other plans.. you know rest of the stuff...how to increase sales, and who is likely canned..

Are you kidding me? The same thing happened to me! Thank you "Pardner". You are a real hypocrit and a dishonest bastard.
