Very selfish motives. The name "Lilly" itself has lost it's meaning company-wide. Oh sure, we give insulin away, but only because there happens to be a surplus that expires soon.
At one time, the motives may have reflected something other than bottom-line Wall Street dividend growth at the expense of employees and the company's future, but no longer.
Let's hope it can change, but you as an individual can do nothing (except take care of yourself) Have a nice week.
