Don't fret Merck reps...your jobs are safe...Managers need someone to blame...

As Jim Morrison once said, "The future's uncertain and the end is always near."

Pretty much describes what it feels like to be a Merck drug rep now...

But when you think about it, the managers really need us more than we need them...

Granted, they can make our lives miserable, but most of us can get other rep jobs for
around the same total compensation, more or less...

Where in the world are the bozos (like those in Women's Health for instance) going
to make 180K a year for forwarding voice mails and emails...

no other industry in their right mind, pays people like this to do so little...

pharma=the parallel universe where unicorns exist and so does the tooth fairy

180K is reserved for managers....

No fairy dust being spinkled or tooth fairy in sight to give any little rep that kind of compensation.......
Maybe you are actiually smoking the fairy dust...

that is what I was referring to...i guess you have the reading comprehension of a
typical Merck rep...maybe you need to be babysat by your CTL?

The CTLs provide no value to anyone, barring the fact that they are reducing payroll. The value provided by the reps is almost as low, though.

Jim Morrison's lyrics are precisely applicable to the current Merck sales force.

The CTLs are a huge part of the problem at Merck...and upper management steadfastly refuses to do anything about it...

what does that tell you? they (as the above poster correctly states) are paid henchmen, whose only role is to push reps out and reduce payroll...

FU MERCK!

Why have so many managers headed for the hills and found other positions in 2012? My guess is they know the downsizing of managers is coming in 2013. Just a guess. Think about it, how many do you know who have taken a rep job or an MAE job or something similar this year?

.....seems that if this is the case the LER positions are most suitable a rep job....
