DOES OTSUKA MICROMANAGE??

I am considering a position, but I truly do not want to be micromanaged. I heard that Otsuka micromanages something fierce anymore. I've heard it is a good company, but they are out of control with their reports, business plans, metrics, call averages, trackers , etc. Can anyone please let me know if this is true? I don't want to be harassed, and I'm not interested in coming on board if I will be babysat.
Also, will we have computers in the field or just the ipads? Thanks for all the information.

This goes on with every company, especially everyone transitioning to the i-Pads.

Otsuka does micromanage now. They need to focus on selling and not micromanaging us. Plus, we need some updated sales pieces. It's hard to have real conversations with physicians when they dr.'s have seen everything 100 times.

No not every company Micro-manages. I work for a large company and also interviewed with Otsuka for the SAMSCA position and also worried about making the move. I have an I-phone now and they dont track and my manager has not been in my accounts in over a year-I love it but the money is lacking. The manager I interviewed with seems like a prick and someone who would micro manage just by his personality and the way he was drilling on the questions.

Hey OAT-SKA I have exceeded my year reviews the past 5 years and in fact won Presidents club in 2010 and 2008. I have extensive Psych account manager experience with Lilly. Have everything the list wanted and have a ton of Buy and Bill experience. Yet no interview! And now I hear that all positions have been filled by BMS or friends and family. Set yourself for success right! Eat your rice and worship the land of the rising sun.

most dont micro manage unless there is a need to micro manage. It also depends on division, manager etc. You can have a micro manager at any company....... The Neuro Acct Mgr jobs would be hard to micro manage on a call avg basis because you may be in only two or three accounts a day.......if your working it properly (a lot of time in each account) this is the way it was presented to me from multiple hiring managers.

Hey dummy, in case you didn't notice this place has recently become loaded with fired Pfizer, cast off management hacks. They invented micro managing (as well as ruined the industry). So yes there is significant micro managing here and it will get much worse.

You have an extensive love for yourself. Get over your complex.

Was your interview in Atlanta? One of the manager seemed like a complete prick! Kinda worried me to work for him.
