Does J&J carry background checks on current employees?

Interested in a new role. Recruiter advised that I will be treated the same as an external applicant.

Will I need to go through background checks and reference checks again despite being an employee?

If you are an internal employee already, then no there is no due diligence (i.e. background / i9). If you are a current contractor and coming in as a "new employee", then yes you will need to do a background check and i9.

I’ve switched roles in different groups multiple times and no background checks. Only the first time.
