Do you think we have till December?

Without giving myself away, my manager recently suggested that I start browsing and entertaining other opportunities. Clearly it wasn't stated exactly that way, but I knew what they had meant. My manager was very clever with their comments without making them come out and say it. I appreciated the sincere honesty and believed they were looking out for my family and I. You see, I don't want to be caught off guard and BANG game over. I have decent sales comparable to others and not near the bottom, but I am concerned if we have much time left. It seems our positive sales bucket isn't even coming close to our negative dollar bucket. More money is going out than coming in.

I have asked a few people that I would consider "in the know" and I am left with very vague and evasive answers. I know when it is over, we will all be left with no severance or even earned bonus and this is not a very comforting thought. An earlier comment suggested we have lost 45 million since the beginning of the year. Does anyone know how much money is left to sustain us? Also, many believe the price change was timed to help ensure getting to the 13 million target which will be a big challenge regardless. I also really felt the company skimmed over the company survey very quickly as everyone i know hadnt rated anything very high. They almost made it sound like we were close to a perfect 5 rating. Last night, I was caught off guard when my daughter came inches to my face and asked "is everything ok?". It made me feel terrible as I realized I let my guard down and was staring in space anxious about starting all over again Monday morning. I won't appreciate any insulting, but does anyone else feel this way?

I think you are realizing what we all will be facing. This company cut people right after Thanksgiving last year. Something tells me "I'll be home for christmas" and it's sad. Good product, mismanaged launch and market strategy. Thanks Scott

Yes. I think many of us feel the same way. I would be surprised if things close up before December. IIt is time to figure out what is most important to you. Many people can be very happy hopping around from potential homerun to potential homerun. Others may learn that stability is paramount.

Hang in there, and do what is best for your sanity and for your family.

I appreciate your concern, you seem smart, but why ask dumb questions on CP to a bunch of idiots that will not give you honest answers. They just tell you Cadence sucks and RSL is a douche. May or may not be true but please use your brain and figure it out for yourself! It is all public information, there are no secrets here. Financial secrets that is..

Loss for the last 6 months = $43.6 million
Cash on hand = $90.8 million as of July 1, 2012
Guidance, so far, is estimated at a growth rate of $2 to $3 million per quarter...pitiful, but are ya still with me?

Best case senario we grow at $3 million per quarter, unless you got something growing more than the rest of us..no comments!

So 2012 best case senario:(I am being generous but real)
Income for 2012 = $50.8 million (q3 = $14.2 million, q4 = $17.5 million + the $19.1 million we already earned for q1 and q2)
Loss for 2012 = $85.6 million (just add $42million for the next 2 quarters/$21 million per quarter, which is reasonabl based on the history, to the $43.6 we already lost)
There are only 2 quarthes left in 2012 so the the net loss for the rest of the year would only be aproximately another $42 million. Still with me???

Cash on hand $90.8 million less aprox $42 million to offset the burn loss for 2012 = $48.8 million left to spend for 2013 and onward with the loss deficit decreasing, but not fast enough without significant, I mean significant, cost cutting. Sales aren't going anywhere that fast.

The problem is break even! Due to our high expenditures, us and the bozos we work for, but I ain't giving anything up. We are burning cash at a rapid rate. At the current rate my dumb ass estimates the break even number around $25-30 million for a quarter. At a $2-3 million per quarter growth rate and a burn rate for 2013 at $30million of $16 million q1, $13 million q2, $10 million q3, and $7 million q 4 for a total loss of $46 million in 2013. I don't see break even until mid 2014 at $2-3 milion increase per quarter. Problem is the well has run close to dry by end of 2013! I think you will be ok in December. July 2013 may be a different story! I hope that all made sense!

Please research for yourself in the future. It is simple finances and you will have confidence in your own findings vs. this place sucks, the car allowance is shit, I didn't get laid at any sales meetings. You need to take care of that daughter and do what is right for her and your family. Not ask CP what is right for you!

More info that last poster did not factor...

avg of 2.5 million sales increase q over q break even of 30 million is end of q1 2014. say we spend 30 million a q for next 7 q is 210 million and sales would be 148 million(29 mill remainder 2012, 89 million 2013, 30 mill q1 2014). Our 90 mill in cash will take care of the loss until that time with 30mill to spare. Clearly these are estmates on expenses and sales but they seem conservative to me. Even the CEO commented during the Q1(May) earnings report the break even isnt seen on the current model until end of 2013.

As we get closer to being profitable different and more favorable loan options and investment opportunities become available. Loans, credit lines, refinance any existing debt, etc.

Company is going to be here until it is sold, patent runs out or longer is we can get a partnership going

After reviewing Corporate Finance 101 on this thread, I've come to the conclusion we can have POAs every month and leave our territories on autopilot.

Management should realize, like they did a year ago May how ineffective, expensive and unnecessary a POA is at this point in the game. Why don't we simply have a couple conference calls and call it good, oh wait I forgot, people at the homeoffice need to prove their worth.

Dread going to POA every day. Colossal waste of time and money.

In an effort to be transparent (right) HR shared the entire company's results with the sales force. Im sure if you break out just the sales reps surveys, the numbers would look very different. But, that would require transparency.

My class, the original post, is elementary school corporate finace, because I could never take a business class in college. I am a tool and left off $30 million in debt. I do think we will be able to re-negotiate the terms for another 12 months so it will revert to interest only until Dec 2013. The investitors want the company to succeed so they can re-negotiate. Bad deal but makes cash sense.

I have a 12 noon tee time. You guys keep bitching about how bad it is here and how we have been wronged! (by the way my manager was bitching at me this morning because of my numbers yesterday just like the rest of you, his wasted breath and I agreed with him to make the call end...duh) I am going to continue enjoying one of the best summers in years! I will never post again..my Sweet tea vodka and lemonade got the best of me last night (and continue this morning )and I decided to add reason to CP. What was I thinking.

Don't hate Cadence..we sell good shit! It does work! We get paid pretty well and I made a lot more bonus before most of my district left and the "re-districting" put me in the middle of the pack. It is what it is! Don't blame your manager or corporate! Take control of your life..do something else! Join the Romney campaign or work at Chic-fil-a and make the world a better place.. Sorry my Independent political humor!

At least it is almost football season, we will have Sunday night and Monday night football, fantasy football number crunching..real important stuff! Start work on Wednesdays once that happens and fall golf on Fridays! And you are bitching just because your manager hurts your feelings..don't care...It makes life a lot easier! Do your job as little as you need to to survive! You will find your happy place eventually! Got to go..Fore left!

Just saying this morning that my resentment comes from working so hard every day and the rankings not reflecting it because of the corporate welfare program. Need to stop working to balance everything out. Thanks!

WOW! You really are a prick and definitely not the original poster. Idiots like you make us all look bad. Wish I knew who you were as I am sure you are one of the biggest suck ups to management we have here. No character whatsoever.

Honestly, same poster, just sober now. Just got back from the course!

See you all later as I will never post again and no I don't suck up. I don't think RSL likes me because he has never congratulated me on my success and is always asking my manager how I am working out. I have never even spoken to Scott.

Probably correct on the character issue but, even with my flaws, I am very happy..sorry bro. I did my hard work and now continue to benefit from my hard work quarter over quarter! I don't need to be #1, just ignored! Nothing got handed to me like the rest of my team. If I make you look bad you need to toughen up and grow a pair. You look bad for many other reasons besides my honest comments, I am sure. Don't be so angry..this is the real world. There are dicks everywhere.

I love this guy!

Dude..don't go away. Some may hate you but I find you motivating! I am not embarassed by you as I am in the same position but wasn't sure about my internal struggle between my professionalism and personal beliefs. I like the f'em attitude and may go with it. Thanks.

You are just as bad especially idolizing someone like that. Look, we are all concerned about our jobs and live in reality. Perhaps you are single and don't give a crap, but many of us have families to support. This thread was legitimate and the poster was seeking out mature thoughts from colleagues. There was nothing motivating about the other comment. In fact, it was depressing. Start looking for a new job and have a little self respect.
