I was just laid off from another big pharma company as a District Sales Manager. Just curious how many reps are under a Divisional Manager at Forest? I’m sure there will be a few wise crack answers but any info about this position would be appreciated (i.e. salary, bonus potential, size of territory for a divisional manager, # of reps under a DM, etc.)

Almost all the managers are from within the company and started as reps or trainers in commack. There are posts from inventive for the new contract reps and I don't know how their divisions or territories will be created and divided. Some managers in more remote areas have pods where they manage all the territory reps, generally 8 to 12. In most territories the DM has 8 or 10 reps who all rep the same 3 products at similar percentages. The size of the territory depends on the area. The more densely populated, the smaller the geography. Many managers do have to fly/travel ro cover their territories. Even in Phoenix area some managers cover AZ and Utah. The salary is about 90k for a new DM with a few years field experience, to 110k for a DM with more years at the company. Most are in the 110-130k range. The bonus is based on their teams performance each quarter. It could be 5k or as much as 20k. It is not unusual for a DM to have a rep on their team who makes more in bonus than they do because they have some teams in the bottom weighing them down. They are all at the mercy of their RD.

There's typically about 10 reps per manager; which is about 9 more than they can comfortably manage ......

We rarely hire from the outside for DMs so you have a very small chance of being hired. If you do make it because we donot have any idiot to fill the minimal requriements. you can get the job. But a warning, you will not be liked by your fellow DMs, Your leadership will most likely not be inline with your counterpart DMs who will then talk behind your back to their RD. Y

If you were laid off, they willl use that against you to prove how unqualified you are for the DM role.
