Distributor just picked up Linvatec - thoughts?

My boss just picked up Linvatec. Previous post don't look so hot. The Sequent system seems to be a nice product, but it's obviously not going to pay the bills. How has the video, power and implants been recieved by the docs?

Take these responses with a hefty bit of skepticism. Cafepharma is rife with competitors trolling the boards. Even the best companies have nasty product reviews posted.

I will repeat my opinions that I have previously posted in other threads. The Hall power line is a good product if you train the users about how the batteries should be used, ie don't leave the battery in the handpiece for extended periods before the case (they power-up the electronics as soon as the battery is inserted) and don' t let the batteries sit in the autoclave after the cycle soaking up the heat (it will kill them over time). The sterile transfer system is the way to go if the account will buy into the concept of a non-sterile battery sealed into a sterile container.

Sports med products are so-so. the endoscopy cameras and etc are good products, but don't expect much new in the future as the US facility is being closed and production is moving to Mexico. Who will service the products?

The sports med products suck, the power line is ok when you have someone in corporate that can trouble shoot issues that you WILL have with it, the video compared to others is sub par, the reputation of the company and it's network of distributors and sales reps will be your biggest hurdle. Your going to need to overcome the reputation of poor service, greedy distributors, dishonest reps etc etc. Good luck.

You know, if you want to criticize fine but at least have some sense of accuracy. Your statement concerning video is way off base, as the company maintains a steady percentage of the marketplace. Linvatec was first to market for autoclavable cameras and true HD - the sports med needs work but is coming along and Power is better - not that the company doesn't have challenges, but as the previous post noted, who doesn't. As far as dishonest - you must be kidding - or you work for Stryker and you're used to lying - their reps do not have a reputation for being dishonest - you're bitter for some reason. Maybe the local Linvatec rep kicked your ass in a evaluation, whatever the reason, your comments are transparent and misleading.

Tell us why a company that has been around longer than most only has 6% overall marketshare.

Since you're going to provide a specific number (6%) of market share, maybe you'd like to provide the source of this information? I am already confident that you won't be able to since it's a number intended to suit your personal opinion based on emotion and not fact. Also, you won't be able to provide a source because it's not true - your number is as accurate as your statements, both misleading and self serving.

I got it straight from the Linvatec brass. Considering everything else they tell us, you may be right, it may be misleading and self serving.

That's B.S. and you know it, as I thought your statement regarding marketshare is false. The advantage of these boards is that it provides self-serving posters with personal motives the ability to post statements while sheltering them from having to prove or support their accuracy. Anyone looking for reasonable input from here would be better off reading the Sunday comics. You, whoever you are, is simply a liar.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! I would guess you are a part of our self righteous management team by the tone of your comments. If you are part of that group you might want to be aware that from the time someone in your group challenged the wretched recall occurances only to be proven wrong, to the promises of products coming to market only to arrive years late and not working, at that, but continuing to hide that information. From your handling of the Santa Barbara debacle to your continued lack of candor with our sales force or for that matter any correspondence of substance to us. All of that along with your lack of honesty, and your complete disregard for honoring your word, has many of us believing that deceit, lying and lack of honor has become part of our corporate mission statement.

Angry management...feuding employees...disloyal sales reps...

Is this company really THIS bad?

This is the only board that NOBODY has anything good to say.

Don't want to work here. Thanks.

Good choice. All of us at linvawreck are looking for new jobs.
Only a matter of time before the doors are closed.

Along the same lines just had a recruiter I am working with steer me away. Even though I want to get into med sales I am so grateful to her for not putting me on that trainwreck.

So typical of comments and individuals on this board. First, since you can't support your market share statement you want to deflect the fact that you're misinformed. Secondly, no, I do not work for Linvatec, however I find it interesting that you make the statement "with our sales force" - you must currently work for the company. Might choose your words with more care then to give away your current employer. Not only a lair, but a idiot lol -

The question begs to be asked, if you are not part of Linvawreck why on earth would you read this thread? Also, who cares if I am currently part of the Linvated sales force, they don't care about us at all. There was a time when I was drinking the koolaid along with everyone else, but I have seen how inhumane the management of this company is. I have been one of the top sales performers in this company and I am currently looking for any way to escape. The headhunter I am working with tells me that there are so many Linvatec resumes out on the street that everyone is wondering how things could go so wrong so quickly. So you can call me a liar or an idiot but I would rather you could call me a former Linvatec sales rep. that has moved on. It can't happen soon enough, and I am not alone.
