Trying to look on the internet to find out how much this pays is darn near impossible.

Please don't waste my time telling me how awful Zimmer is....

Just need to know precisely what one can expect for take home in a direct sales position?

Best guess, probably somewhere in the 50-70K range. That is based on knowledge of what the academy people get starting out. Go independent where the sky is the limit. But that all depends on whether you are seeking a job or a career.

Expect $175K first year, well into $500K by year three....sky is the limit!! But seriously, you expect real answers on Cafepharma? Did you lick a few too many stamps while earning your mail-in diploma? Such an idiot....

OK, time to start loading the short bus. How about we don't tell you how awful Zimmer is, and, instead, tell you how pathetically stupid you are. Where do you expect this information to be published on line? Why would you think you'd get a credible answer here? Please let us know who you are so we can make absolutely certain that you don't even get th eopportunity to walk through the door. Your so stupid I'm afraid it might be contagious!!!

its sad that so called professional sales guys can't help anyone out on here. If you don't have any useful info don't post. Sick of ppl on this site just bashing every thread on every company. To original poster, I was wondering the same thing but thanks cafepharma. I guess I will find out on my interview

Serious answer here....it depends! If you have relationships and experience, you will certainly be higher. If you are a noob, as I was twenty years ago, expect anywhere from 30-45, maybe higher in more expensive areas to live. Communicate that you don't care about the money, you just want the opportunity, then live that ideal. Nothing rankles people more than noobs expecting 75k upfront, or the noob that constantly asks about $. They are usually the first ones to leave for a job offering more.

"20 years ago" doesn't matter, since this is a brand new trauma opportunity created at zimmer in the last year. There are no direct sales positions on the joints side. Pays around $60-65k and expenses to young kids out of college who go through their 6 month trauma program (which is supposed to be a pretty strong program and seems to be a great opportunity to break into the industry in a meaningful way, rather than joining a distributor as a junior rep and just running sets around town for 4 or 5 years and making 30k). As they expand and look for experienced people i think they are offering more competitive market based packages. I believe they also have direct dental positions too, but i assume you're asking about trauma and joint reconstruction.
