• Make it like cafepharma, but for different industries: over the years we’ve had suggestions for creating a site similar to cafepharma, but for different industries. Now there is a place. Check out CompanyUnderground for company forums in other industries. Don’t see a company? Request it here. Let your friends and family outside the pharma/medical sales space know they now have a safe, anonymous place to talk.

Isn't it amazing? They sat on that stage and preached about this new model, this new approach to things, this new Persistent Innovation. They said they're doing this for the greater good of the patients and that this new model MAY not coincide with sales or gaining scripts immediately, but in the long run it would. They told us to trust them, that they knew what they were doing. They said this was the future of pharma, the future of Shire.

They've told us for years that were BRAVE and that we need to do things in ways that were unconventional. They said their end goal was with patients in mind. They told us to have disease state calls, even added an ADHD option to Irep. They told us to make conversations less about product and more about patients. They changed our bonus plan because they said it would build teamwork and cooperation.

They complicated our lives with these bogus MBO's, said that these would help us develop ourselves and we'd be a better sales force with this new approach. They preached how important they were and how important including them in our IC plan was the right thing to do. They told us this was all in response to the investigation, and this was a way to make pharma appear to patients that we are less about the script and more about them.

They told us all this over the past 6 months or so.

Now we sit, 3 weeks past the first quarter that these new bold initiatives are in place and we are told to forget about all of it. One month where we finished below forecast negates all of this crap they've been shoveling to us. One month below forecast changes our entire approach. Way to be brave. No more MBO's, discussions in the works to bring back individual numbers and heavens forbid individual bonuses. And can you imagine? Now, we MUST talk Vyvanse every call!! What?? (I hope you all sense the sarcasm)

What do they attribute the drop in numbers to? Distractions? Check. Perhaps the removal of our individual goals and bonus? Check. Perhaps the fact that over 15,000 HCP's are not getting any representation? Who knows?

What did they think was going to happen? How could this leadership team be so absolutely stupid? Thank God this new guy came in here and HOPEFULLY can bring things back. I only hope that we didn't lose too many great reps in the process. Some were casualties to the stupid decision making process as to who they laid off. And others who realized that this was not the place for someone who actually can and wants to make money.

Time will tell. But be brave everyone, while leadership figures out what the heck they're doing. And grab the popcorn, as long as its on sale. Friday's bonus statements aren't going to be pretty.

Wow! So true! Just shows the lack of leadership. They can't even stick with their dumb ass decisions.

We didn't get the scoop from our RD about these things but hope it's true. I feel like I'm working harder than ever and getting less money and more pressure. It's horrible!! Management is so clueless. Why the f should I feel motivated to increase my calls per day when there is no extra money on the table. Shire is getting so greedy and all these cutbacks might help the stock price in the short term but in the long run they are going to lose their best employees and more bad will with the customers.

Great post, and so true. Current upper management has taken the sales force in a negative and ineffective direction for a long time now, and just now they are realizing their incompetence. It shows how out of touch they are and that they do not understand this industry.

I think all of our "senior" leadership is going to be held to account. They will have to show what they have done - which we all know is nothing - to drive sales instead of just pushing everything down on the RD and Reps. Good luck!
