Did They Know?

Did the Oncology team already know they were being sold off or was the pre-dawn email their first notice?

Seems like the NBU got word from an update Perry sent out. I was just wondering if the Shire management learned that’s not how to treat people and did things differently this time. Somehow I doubt it.

They had no idea. But talking with a couple of them, they couldn’t be happier.

i don't doubt their happ8ness with the situation.

But, what kind of people announce this kind of information via an email to the employees? I have been in pharma over 25 years. I've been through buy outs, sell offs, take overs, layoffs and much more. With the many different companies Ive been employed by, I have NEVER seen such callous disrespect.

I am not surprised, though. I have tried on several occasions to speak to our CEO and was met with rudeness and a complete lack of courtesy each time. i recently spoke with several high profile doctors who met with him at International meetings. Each doctor shared the same experience. Flemming is a very rude man. I could blame his mom for poor upbringing, but he is old enough to know how to treat people. Too bad he is making so much money in this deal. certainly undeserved.

I agree! I’ve been in Pharma for 13 years and been thru lay offs, buyouts etc.
I have NEVER seen communication about being sold off via email. So very calloused. I’m usually not an idealist, but this is bullshit. I wish people in the oncology division much success, I hope you get to keep your jobs. As someone in a different bu, we are wondering “who’s next?”
