Diabetes Town Hall Meeting

Really... Does anyone know what is the topic for this meeting, other than navigating thru YZ? The call was moved from Nov 8th to Dec 12th because of the termination of the Alliance with Amylin. Is this more planning time to reallocate us? Should we all be worried?

Considering most of us have territories the size of a pea....why wouldn't they cut some of us? I easily could work the territory my peer counterpart covers (and visa versa). Lets face it, we sell a commodity...insulin. We don't need to pay $100K to someone pushing a product that basically sells itself. I would whack half the salesforce. We don't need us. Sorry to be a downer.

Ferchissakes when Novo was advertising on Indy NPR four years ago, it should have been taken as open season on the huge American Flag/Lilly logo atop the Corporate Center. Those powerful images don't mean anything in a more cost-conscious age.

Commodity is right. It's pretty plain Vanilla, generic stuff.

And with exercise and a good diet, most wouldn't be necessary at all. You have epidemic obesity to thank for your jobs, right?

I agree with the obesity problem....hence our job. However, I don't think we need the volume of insulin reps to service these hogs.

Maybe those reps that have territories within a large city limits have "pea sized" territories but rural territory are much larger. Sometimes it takes us 3 hours to get to our clinic but by that time you are done with your day!

You need to set up a bi-weekly VisionJam with your clinics, utilizing our state-of-the art IT geniuses!

Downsizing by 300 sales reps.

Lilly is so top heavy with insulin reps it's embarrassing. We could easily whack half the crew and be fine. Shhhhh. Let's not let them (mgt) get wind that we're "selling" (and I use the word lightly) a commodity (insulin), or that were hustling a third DPP4 that screams "no benefit" to our physicians. How long is this going to last? My teammates (me included) are nothing more that ass kissers....doctor...you're a thought leader in our community..how do you treat diabetes blah blah blah.. It's sickening! We are valued on perception (all subjective), and inaccurate numbers. We work for such a lilly white company. If I had to define Lilly in one word...it would be "Neidermeyer"....the dick from Animal House.

Neidermeyer fits perfectly.

Let me mull this over. Funny "Neidermeyer" comment.

Bydureon toasts all around yesterday, plant is running 24/7, trucks are rolling, launch time is party time!

I had great Lilly partners in my territory, & I wish the launch were with them instead of contract reps. Would have enjoyed the party with you, but Lilly's leadership, & Amylin's too, made some critically poor decisions. As an Amylin rep, I am glad about the approval, but it is bitter-sweet!

I work for Lilly in another division- that was one of the classiest posts I've read on this site. Best of luck in your launch. You sound like a top notch rep and performer!
