What is the starting salary and target bonus for a biologics sales rep?
What is the starting salary and target bonus for a biologics sales rep?
For me 175k
For a TM, 175, nope. $90-150 range.
Thank you. Is this the range for base? Because if I can get 150 I’ll consider taking it. What’s target bonus?
Range for base 90-150 for TM
Target I think 45?? Bonus payout changed. We aren’t getting paid on EAP/free drug anymore and that is majority of scripts right now since we aren’t first line on plans.
In all seriousness, if you need a paycheck and have been out of work for awhile, then that’s only way I’d consider this place. Most everyone is looking to leave or have left. Our two NSDs left, more than half of RSMs left, and 40% of TMs. That’s not including field reimbursement, medical science liaisons, etc. It’s a very toxic place right now.
Thanks for providing a serious answer. From everything I read, it’s a very toxic environment and I don’t think that even the high end of the base scale is worth that. I’m going to pass.
When you have TMs having heart attacks, strokes, and new onsets of high blood pressure run!! This place will kill you, no joke!!
Yes it’s bad here. Hope those TMs get back on their feet and get the hell out of here. No job is worth your health.[/QUOT
One TM told RSM they were sick and had to go to ER hours away from home while working and RSM response was “sorry to hear but you are working tomorrow since you have that snack right?” TM has documentation.
Fat asses at office don’t need their damn Starbucks but I’m sure the TM’s kids would like to see their parent!
Total bullshit to not put employees’ health first!
Salary range is 120-165. Bonus is said to be 45k, but realistically it is about 15k. Product isn't bad, but coverage, hub and company are very subpar. This is a "tweener" job to get you through until the next good opportunity.
That is as honest as one can be.
Salary is much less. $95k-145k is the new high end. As always depending on experience. The target bonus is $44k and most will get $25-35k. The top 20% will see far more in bonus $ so the territory history should be of high concern if you are interviewing. The company had its fill of expensive biotech reps that didn’t produce considering what they were paid.
Yes, know your territory. I don’t care who the rep is some territories just suck ass! Some territories also haven’t had an MSL, non working FRM, and too f****g large for one person compared to territories that you can work in 1/2 a day. Typical pharma. Same territories do well for each company, same territories suck doesn’t matter who works it.
Some reps get shitty territories no matter what you are selling, years of experience, salary, doesn’t matter. You can have a top notch rep but in a shit territory. It’s like getting the short straw. Negotiate salary that covers you if your bonus sucks or you don’t get one so you don’t sweat it.
I’ve had great territories and ones that felt like death they were so bad. Know your territory you are interviewing for. Sun will lie to your face! Contact former rep if you can or someone in that area to help.

I reached out to a TM before I applied and during this process. She was honest (refreshing in this business) about yes there have been turnovers but had a positive outlook about the changes and direction company was going and really believes in drug. She took time to answer questions and help me. I didn’t know what to think about TMs on here after reading posts on here but at least there is a good one I found.
Everyone’s experience is different with Sun sounds like. Sounds like new leadership will be great for biologics.
I’d be very cautious in saying new leadership will be great for biologics.
Keep in mind, a few newly-appointed ‘leaders’ were a sales rep just 2 months ago. So ... leadership is a definite ???
Being here 6-12 months now, the real issues are 1-2 levels up from my boss.
This whole thing is an epic cluster, they completely missed the most basic things ! Whiff!
I’ve worked for some decent companies and this is a couple of steps down. Definitely junior-league.
I’ll give it another 6 months.
