A truly talented tka revision surgeon doesn't need cone/sleeves. Put bone chips or cement in the area. The space is taken up by either bone, bone cement or metal. With the metal, the surgeon may have to remove cancellous bone to fit the shape of the cone.
Also, I have not read any peer reviewed, consultantless, data showing increase in survivorship or knee scores.

You guys truly are idiots. Read and you will find out its not the sleeves but a seldom used cone
Does not matter much, all you have to do is mention RECALL in passing and the docs will think its what they have been using, at least they will "think" there might be a problem. Why do Depuy reps post here, they know they represent a piece of shit company? By the way, all the sleeves came from the LPS system, not Sigma, so you talk about how great they are and you use them on your Sigma revision knee.... they are not any different.

I talked to a surgeon yesterday about the recall. I told him the entire history of sleeves and what was actually recalled. A competitive approached him in between cases today. I didn't hear the conversation but the surgeon told me after that he basically told the guy that if that was how he conducted business that he had no chance of his business. Not saying that will happen every time or even most of the time but I would be careful how you try to capitalize on this.
Hope you are not a recon rep. That is the dumbest post I have ever seen.
You guys do realize what a Diaphyseal sleeve is right? This was used in a limited number of limb salvage cases. These were not the metaphyseal sleeves that are used in sigma revision knees, S-Rom hinge knees, or even most distal femur replacement cases. The metaphyseal sleeves that are used in those procedures have been around for a long time with a good track record. When you go to surgeons and try to create a problem with metaphyseal sleeves that is not there it will come back to bite you. If you use this same logic then Stryker surgeons shouldn't use any modular stems including restoration because they recalled rejuvenate. Zimmer surgeons shouldn't use trabecular metal in the knee because the low profile tibial base had serious issues. Smith and Nephew surgeons shouldn't use any oxinium knees because journey had so many problems and the press fit oxinium was recalled.
