Dental

I just checked the PDCO stock price. What a shame that it has gone down so much. Seems the management is lost and as far as the dental side—Rogan as the president? That in itself is a joke. He was nothing when he had a territory. He was nothing when he was a branch manager and was lost when he was a regional president. Now he is the president of the dental division…..how is that working out?

It’s going great. Folks running for the door and he’s the invisible man. I’m sure Walchirk will check in from California to see what is happening sometime. Both of the dental storyteller crew will bring up the past and how it’s everyone else’s fault. Emails will be sent to out, words will go on paper, and we’ll probably continue losing more good people. Don’t worry though, we are only 9 months away from the next NASM which will be a repeat of the last 4 NASMs - “it’s about the people” while good people continue to leave.

In this current time frame yes, it almost has nothing to do, because the whole segment is falling.
In the long run I'd say best case scenario we go back to $30-35.
Debt level and margins squeeze are factors here.

Ahhh NASM. Spending your entire per diem card on half a dinner in anticipation of watching the same big ballers cross the stage as you sit in a festering stew of Covid. Maybe if you're able to sneak out early enough, you'll catch a glimpse of the leadership at the airport making a red eye retreat in advance of the huddled masses crammed into tour buses. This Is My Fight Song!

The Patterson Dental decline is sad. At one time Patterson was the best company to work for. That is until the wrong people were and are put in charge. As an ex-dental rep for Patterson I experienced the changes that were happening and decided to move on. The ego’s, the arrogance and the lack of people skills have taken this segment down the drain.
My advice is pour the kool-aid they want you to drink down the drain and hopefully Rogan will go down the drain as well.

I think this is a thread about the leadership of dental and corporate. In business, this is really simple. Leadership is either lift or drag to the company’s performance. Very apparent they are drag (hold back). A 2 headed duopoly exists in dental and no one else is left standing. Not sure what Mark does from CA but collect checks and give the same speech at NASM every year.

well, now we know I guess…

Big news out today. The frat boy culture and attitude about “relationships” is a problem. I would not be surprised to see at least one other big name have their day soon. There is no place for this behavior in a professional company!

At this point, the board needs to be held accountable for the culture that has been created & take action. The band aid has been ripped off so they just as well cut out all the cancer leading the show.

Operations/Legal/Accounting have taken over at dental. Walchirk at least had a sales mindset. The key to unlocking PD success… very simple: make it easy for the customer to buy from them. From what I hear, it’s painfully difficult for customers at every level, including paying their bills. They don’t listen to the reps and any suggestions are just ignored.

This aged well. Lololol

Wow! Another week and more good people leaving. The brain drain of field talent has been massive the past few months. I wonder how the leaders of dental are spinning this to our new CEO. I’m sure it was all planned and “those people needed to go”. I’m sure they have a plan that’ll be unveiled at NASM next year.
