Dendreo's Provenge Gets on veteran's Administration Formulary

This company is such a paradox.

They have a therapy for prostate cancer. Now they get on the VA formulary. So they do nice things.

What is so paradoxical is that much of the management and all of the BoD from when heinous acts were committed against employees, shareholders, investment banks and cancer patients are still around. MG played musical chairs. He went from CEO to a Director on the Board of Directors. GS is still the CFO. MF is still here. The BoD is the same. There was an management change in sales. For the most part the worst are still here.

Its hard to find an analogy for a paradox such as this, but I will try.

Lets say there is a company in charge of getting to the solution of world peace. This is a very nice thing just like developing a cancer therapy is a nice thing. But imagine Donald Trump leading up this group. Yes the same Donald Trump who calls African Americans "the blacks." Pat Robertson is on the BoD. Yes the same Pat Robertson who waits for natural disasters to occur so he can blame those natural disasters on god getting revenge on "sinful" people. When forced to apologize, he always apologizes but he already said it to his target crowd and they never see the apology. For good measure we can throw in the Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

I think this is a very good analogy to explain the Dendreon paradox. Mostly bad people in very important positions at a company that does good things.

I couldn't sell my soul to buy this stock. On a stock board, I literally saw a post from one of the long time Dendreon fanatics who was actually saying there are bad people (he called them charlatans) at this company but that you should offer your support. I don't know how someone like that sleeps at night. He has blood on his hands. He doesn't want the company to be sold because his losses would be final, but selling the company to Big Pharma would be in the best interest of cancer patients. Big Pharma has the resources and the know how to market this drug the right way. So again, someone who tells people to support "charlatans" for his own sick selfish financial reasons at the expense of cancer patients has blood on his hands.

What a strange way of doing business! It looks like they open an account for a $8M as a way of approving the drug for use at VA hospitals?

Do they also do some sort of negotiation to get it for a better price and actually buy $8M up front to do so? If so, that would certainly help get the quarter's sales figures out of the doldrums, though at the expense of future quarters.
 






You are short the stock so you are here to spread harmful lies. You have chased away sales reps and truly have blood on your hands. You can not stand to hear goods news about the company, so immediately you go on attack and overun positive information with your completely idiotic nonsense. You refuse to recognize that senior management has mostly been replaced. You refuse to accept the fact that cash usage was $49 million last quarter when provided with definitive data. You constantly repeat the same lies.
