AP- in a bold cost cutting move several national academic center announced today that they will be replacing all public bathroom toilet paper with Dendreon's white papers. A spokesman at Tulane announced the multiple-center initiative that involves key centers across the country. "These white papers are everywhere so it makes good sense to use them in an appropriate way" said Ron Hunt, hospital administrator at Tulane. Other institutions agree with Tulane's program. "Dendreon's white papers are a hoot! They keep you busy while you're busy and then you just wipe and flush" proclaimed Sidney Nuxoll at Karmanos Cancer Center. "Dendreon has finally figured out how to innovate. Combining comedy and hygiene functionality is not easy but those huckleberries out in Seattle really came up big".
Provenge sales have been less than stellar but this new channel will undoubtedly create opportunity to sell white papers at a premium. A spokesperson for Charmin and Cottonelle said today that this recent announcement will hurt their business in 2012. "We are keeping a close eye on this situation. We know Dendreon has 100 dedicated sales professionals distributing various white papers every day. We can't keep up with their distribution model". Sandro Vitelli, president of Scott paper, has confirmed that the toilet paper mogul is in late stage discussions with Dr. Leonard Gomella on a white paper of their own. "Lenny knows the stakes are high and we must beat Dendreon".
