December or January?

Any thoughts on the timing of the next round of layoffs? Havn't been with Merck that long...don't know the pattern of past layoffs. Also, anyone with any inside knowledge, including details of a revised (i.e., inferior) severance package?

The losers are waiting until the FDA decides whether or not to approve talcagipant. That decision should be in late Aug/Sep. Once that decision (likely a non-approve) occurs, then the losers will know where to begin...neurology. Then expand to disease focus. The field will be informed right around Thanksgiving, in keeping with the losers' penchant for ruining holidays.

Can't comment on severance packages.

How Merck has evolved over the past decade. We used to not worry about layoffs because MRL was like a well-oiled machine that would crank out one great product after another. Now we are speculating on the next round of layoff if one product does not get approved. We went from having too many products approved too quickly to the current state. It's tragic.

....ummmm...let's see.....gas will be at 5 dollars by Memorial Day....we is dropping like flies on Labor Day.....
Any telemarketing from the headquarters will wipe out many gas burning cars....so what that it is not effective....it is all about what makes Wall Street happy.
See ya at the unemployment line.

What about Maxalt....patent still on into 2012.

It's got little to do with what will be a small seller in a migraine market packed with generic and OTC alternatives.

Neurology reps are indeed in trouble---and so are the Primary Care reps. Half of them will be gone by year's end.
