Dear Pompous Ass

I know this may be hard for an elitist pompous ass like you to understand OB, but these messages on cutting out Starbucks to take Belviq are getting pretty old. Obviously it must be hard for you to comprehend the vast majority of the population do not partake in a latte/scone breakfast each morning. There are many people struggling to make ends meet, much less add such a high priced medication to their budget. Many of our patients reside in urban areas where they take mass transit to work or are in more rural areas where Belviq is half their car payment because God forbid we actually put hhc into action and charge a somewhat reasonable price for this to maybe get people on the product then slowly increase. To the RBDs and DMs, when you feed into this by forwarding these pathetic emails and laughing like hyenas at everything, you lose what little working respect we have for you as well.

Couldn't agree more. Far too many people in this company forget just how much $250 means to most people. Less than a grande Starbucks per day?? I don't spend that kind of money on coffee, and I know most of the "regular folk" don't either. Wake up people. Join the real world.

Ok, so maybe it's not a Starbucks. Maybe it is a family size bag of Lays potato chips. If a fat person eats much less they spend much less on food. Turns out many have insurance coverage as well. If the doctor goes to bat for the patient they are getting authorizations.

So under that logic there really wouldn’t be a need for Belviq…oh I guess there is that whopping that 4% ‘additional’ weight loss. Which for a 300 pounder is 12 pounds. YAWN… Geez they could take all the money they are saving by not buying potato chips AND not buying Belviq and they could buy a gym membership with a trainer or healthier (which is generally more expensive) food…well you just talked me out of trying your drug on an obese patient. Great sales training you have there at Eisai…

...And there you have it people...this is what most of our customers are thinking and doing. All I've heard so far is that the ptx must be on an exercise regimen for a month prior to even considering Belviq since the 4% weight loss is with diet and exercise...if they are not exercising and eating right then what is the point of putting them on anything as the 4% will dwindle to much less. Hate to say it but it has been a cold reception at best...

That's too bad. It's rocking in my area, reception and excitement wise. Doctors say they are writing and pharmacists confirm scripts are coming in. I project that I'll need help. When they close your territory do you wasn't to come out and be my apprentice?

Rockin, u must be lying about the efficacy, safety and cost. If Drs hear the limited 3% wt loss vs placebo, serious potential risks for 260/month there will be no excitement, people can lose that much wt with a good dump and a short walk.

I hear there were key doctors around the country that have been writing scripts for months and then just had their staff call the patients to tell them it was okay to fill the scripts.

Thanks OB for using CP, once again, to 'inspire' us!

lying? no need to lie. physicians have been waiting for this med and they are reminded of the need for every 7 out of 10 patients that they see. If you can't deliver the efficacy data to a provider in a manner that elicits interests then you shouldn't be in sales. I am not going to spell it out for you but if you are really that clueless on how to promote this med then PLEASE reach out for help. What do you have to lose? your boat is already taking on water and it won't fix itself by complaining.

So inspirational OB...you should put that one on a poster in your office.

Or, if you truly care about patients, tell physicians to put them on the othe medication that is significantly more effective, much safer, easier to use and more affordable. If you just want to earn money, lie and say your med I'd more effective, safer, once a day, no drug interactions, and the AACE recommends for all patient types, from the least thru the most complicated patients. Oops, lie, lie, lie, lie, lie and lie
