When my contract eneded due to the withdrawal of the drug from the market in 2009, I was assured that my severance was due to no fault of my own and that I was absolutely eligible for rehire. Since then, I have applied for over 50 sales jobs, all of which I am qualified for, and have received zero, that's right, ZERO response to any of them. Thanks for the memories.

You must be some kind of slow-witted person to apply for jobs for 5 years and not be able to figure out what you are doing wrong. Start brushing your teeth, comb your hair once in a while, rewrite your resume, wear a suit to the interview....geesus, do something different. Unless you are doing something to sabotage yourself, you should have gotten a job by now. If you are unwilling to make changes you need to move on to another field of work.

The OP may be pissed, rightly or wrongly, but this is true for anyone on contract...you'd think / assume you did a good job on 1 contract, getting the call for the next one would be a no brainer...just a glut of good reps out there that can make inVentiv look good. If client company asks for left handed, red haired, reps with 3-5 years experience in underwater proctology, they've got plenty of them to choose from.
 






Agree, if you are over 50 Inventiv puts you up just to check the box that they have Ived someone over 50. I was turned down for diseases I had earned Presidents Club for said better candidate! Happily, out of Pharma after plus years in a new career that I am loving! I went with Inventiv because I was told do a good job & be placed on another contract! FALSE! Look elsewhere in Healthcare sales.

I have been on two inVentiv contracts and I am over 60. In both training classes there were people older than me, and at least a third of each class was over 50.

Time to step aside and let some younger people have your job. You'll be dead in a couple of years anyway. Have some fun and enjoy life before then.
 






You younger generation really think any of us are going to "give" you our jobs. Foff.
Such an entitlement attitude. No one "gave" us their job. Baby boomers had so much competition for jobs when we were your age.
Go make your own career, no ones retiring early, the age is 66 for full retirement.
So go work your ass off like our generation did and the generation before us!
It's the American way, we aren't socialists in this country.Grow the fuck up

This country is already socialist, you just don't know it yet. Socialized medicine, huge entitlements given to anyone that wants them, higher taxes for the rich, voters elect and re-elect candidates that give them the most benefits, and more people are on food stamps than ever before. We're grown up, and we're going to take your job. Take your analog cell phone and your box of Depends and quietly go into retirement.
 






Piss off, little boy. I draw full social security and add to it every year. Building my 401K, too. Why do I want to retire. I enjoy what I do, and I'm damn good at it. Why would I want to sit at the club every day with a bunch of old geezers and talk about Obama Care? I'd rather be whipping your young ass in the sales arena, and I can do it any day to the week. I was within a gnat's ass of being the the top rep in my company's whole sales force this year. I may DO it this year.

And another thing: Your entitlement attitude is what is wrong with this country today. You young bucks sit on your lazy ass, collect a gov-ment check and let somebody else carry the water. And, of course, Obama is your enabler. He wants to own you. and he WILL.

Go work for a living. Create your own way.

And meantime I'll be the one having lunch with the docs, selling product, while Nurse Ratchet stops you at the front door.
